I've made a start (2003 expert)

Sofa beds in after cutting some arch shaped holes in the arms.. (total pain lifting it into place on my own!)

So far I've fitted the reverse camera, and swapped the bulkhead out for a blackout curtain.

Up next I'll be copying the leisure battery under the bonnet I saw in another thread, and cutting out my windows in the back door (yikes). I've bought a pull down TV for the ceiling too!

Re: I've made a start (2003 expert)

On a dispatch related note its been running great lately even though i neglect the poor thing and never check oil till the light comes on (Never) Having said that i get a low water light on start up sometimes even though there is plenty water.

Re: I've made a start (2003 expert)

Yea I got the 1.9d.. Its crazy slow, my last few vehicles were all hot hatches haha. I started getting the low water light on a cold day - It goes away straight away once the engine warms up so not too worried (I had a car before which did the same in the winter and no problems).

Just ordered my battery since I realised I can't fit the fittings under the bonnet without being confident it will close with the battery in..

That looks great, I'd love to have a big bus once I have a driveway.. Living in a flat at the moment with a new baby on the way so I have to be slightly practical (altho I think I may find the expert is no good for the baby seat anyway!)

Re: I've made a start (2003 expert)

I cant vouch for the baby seat but there is plenty room. We put a good size roof box on what held his and hers clothing holdalls and all dog items. Small awning for the extra room. Some storage at rear of home made R&R bed and lots of storage for bedding under it. Swivel seats and away we went to the Black Forrest Germany. Another guy who i think has left the group went round Europe in his for his honeymoon.

Re: I've made a start (2003 expert)

I had a leaky thermostat housing for ages. I'll fix it, I told myself every damn time the light came on. I saw similar, that my early warning was that the light would come on when cold (and also under hard acceleration)

I just topped it up when the engine was cold and it was fine.

I've fixed the leak now. Feels so strange to not have to top it up every couple of weeks.

TBH i have not looked and never gave the thermostat a thought. Oil leak was an advisory in the MOT so now i am wondering if i do have a slight leak and its cleaning dirt away and looking like oil by the time it reaches the sump.

Ill check it later as need to fix a door lock now. Wife managed to pull the barrel out the door tonight big_smile Chucking it down so was not going to much about tonight. Ill check the mora

THe clue with mine was the red gunk around the housing - obviously old antifreeze with the water having evaporated off. It didn't look like a leak as it never reached the ground.
