02 Peugeot Expert 2.0hdi spares/repair

Hi Folks,

I was registered on the site & always found good info here. I have had to re-register as I lost my details to login.
So I'm putting this up here first before it goes on the usual for sale sites.

Registered 03 Expert I have owned this for the last 7 years. Aprrox 180,000miles mileometer lcd not showing now, usual fault, Colour coded bumpers & mirrors, Fully insulated boarded/carpet in back, 807 Roland Gaross leather/material swivel seats, Recent cambelt/waterpump, New windscreen fitted May this year, Regular services carried out etc. I had it mot'd on Saturday 28th November which it passed no problem, with one advisory for "both anti roll bar bush or pin worn but not excessive."

So out Sunday for a drive & the coolant light comes on, odd as I checked all fluids before the mot. Coolant is pushing past the expansion tank cap, so top it up head back home.
Today I took it to my local garage had them check for leaks etc unfortunately it has a leaking head gasket, this was confirmed by carrying out a head gasket leak test which I was present to see. The van has travelled about 20 miles since the incident.
I'm gutted as the van has truly never let me down, but unfortunately I cannot afford to have it repaired. With what has happened this year, has left me along with many others I'm sure, very tight on money.
So if anyone is interested in the van as a whole please let me know. I will not part it out, so if you want it please make a sensible offer. I will send pics to members if requested.

That's such a shame and good on you for not parting it out. How much have you been quoted for the head gasket repair?

Hi Ken, yeah absolutely gutted, as it is a great little van, we use it as a stealth camper plus my daily driver.
Got quoted over a grand to repair, apparently not easy to get the head off in situ so the way they do it is to drop the engine /gearbox subframe to do it.
I want to see it go as a whole, as I do not want to mess about with a bit here & there.
