OBD CODE 1471

COULD ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THE CODE 1471.,ON A FIAT SCUDO 2.O MULTIJET 2007 VAN. THE VAN QUITE OFTEN WILL NOT START, SO I PLUG IN THE SCANNER AND GET THE CODE 1471. I DELETE THE CODE AND THE VAN WILL START .

I'm going to make the assumption its a P code {powertrain}....

Under generic code P1471 Meaning I find..........
Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration Insufficient is the generic description for the P1471 code, but the manufacturer may have a different description for your model and year vehicle.1471  .....

I'm not entirely happy with that explanation...............
But as I can't find anything specific on FIAT  2.0JTD  P1471 code I'm going to take a punt and say "Try telling the code reader"  it's a 2.0 HDI Peugeot or Citroen van as they all use same engine and see if the read out gives any more info...................
