Re: Forgive Me Father...

57 Plate! And I bet it has more than 80hp! God I need to sit down...

Obviously nothing can measure up to a DispatchExpertScudo, but it looks very nice indeed. Looks in decent nick. What's the history?

Might be interested in doing a back door swap with a financial contribution, I never liked the ladder on the back of mine. I'll keep an eye out for your parts post.

Glass out and solid doors on the Maxus big_smile Dispatch has glass but wood on the inside and TBH a tad tatty.

Aye not sure about BHP. Its either 90 or 120 and the way it pulls to 62mph it feels like 120. My last Convoy was 90 and never pulled like this but the speed restrictor spoils the fun. That will be going ASAP. History is sparse.  Got a file of receipts with lots of ne parts but the timing belt i have no history on. Google is contradiction itself at times. Either 70k or 100k it should be changed. This bus is at 111k and no receipt or etched under the bonnet so that is on the cards also. Need to work 7 days a week for a month to catch up in spends now. Bus has been off and on COFI licence. Guy i bought it from runs a school run service for special needs kids and this was a backup for his UVG Merc but never needed.

Words of wisdom: Internally rust proof the sills and subframe! both skins!!. There's always user serviceable parts inside. "Oh that shouldn't have happened".

Re: Forgive Me Father...

Is that front or rear wheel drive? ...........

This is all from reading articles and memory  of .............
Being a 57 plate it's possably built in poland not birmingham[Uk] ..........
They were first built about 2004/5
Daewoo had some sort of investment pecentage in it ........
Utility companies and the royal mail had loads [Their discounts would make you cry] and performed well at their job ............
The Russians build a version or are meant to... in a Gaz or Kamaz plant {Don't know when this took place or started from]..............
in early 2010's sold on to chineese { probably getting long in tooth and hence Russian conection] .............
I believe now FWD or maybe that's just SWB ......................

IIRC 2.5L turbo probably burns a little more diesel than the Dispatch............
Looks good you should have a half decent van there.........
Is it wide enough to put a bed across the back like a Relay, Ducato or Boxer at 6 foot? ..............

Well Done.....
ENJOY ........

I was going to buy a MWB daily as its still huge but the seller was dicking about to much so left it. I see his advert is back up but sod um, he had his chance. The engine is a 2.5 VM. Think its used in a Jeep Chereoke or however you spell it. Italian but i think GM are part owner. The tin is Chinese and very thin but not a lot of rust what is nice being an LDV.

FWD was all the Maxus range as far as i can tell. Bed across the back is great if you are a short arse. Its 1 inch under six foot but i have the bus trim so that extra inch may be achievable. We all want that little extra  tongue  My last convoy was about 6'2" across the back but when i had a bed that direction i was cramped as i am 6'2" and had to accommodate walls and insulation. Present Convoy is almost 7' across the bus however the Maxus is just for work. As for MPG i bought it in Livi and the 42 miles home must have cost me £10 yikes  I have a reason for that. EML light was on and the code reader was saying exhaust gas. My mate thought Lambda sensor i was thinking EGR as it was only used for short slow trips. Im thinking Give the bus a blast and the light will go out. I did a lot of miles at 60mph in 4th gear but the light did go out and stay out (I won) Mid 30's should be the norm.

My neighbours must love me. These two, wifes car and the Dispatch. Oh and bike but that is in back garden

My neighbours Love me too ...........
I've usually got a couple vehicles parked in street......
At moment the 306 is in front garden awaiting some TLC........
[I've a couple of past their sell by dates bunging up drive]
This means that the lady across from me, When her carers arrive they park right oposite me and block the street ...........
[But the drive way there is empty]
So 3 out of the 4 houses that are after me in the Cul-de-sac are up in arms with me...........

[Funny the 3 that are up in arms moved there either in last 10 or 3 years ....My imidiate neighbour has been there since 1990 and isn't up in arms with me]
Excuse me I only live her and have done so effectivly since 1991 and I ordered and had house built in 1990...........

[The lady in question across the road did the same as us but moved there in about 1992 or 3....
[Now widowed]
The plot was vacant for quite a bit and she and hubby had to sell other house first to pay for it]........

Plus the car is usually there overnight for well more than 12 hours before they arrive and leave as much space for a pedal cycle to pass.............
But it my fault nobody inc dustbin lorry can't get past.........

On one ocation [My nextdoor heighbour told me] a carer called an Ambulance ...........
The Ambulance couldn't get to front of house so parked in front of their car...........
and while getting the lady across road now in a sack barrow chair thing into Ambulance........
Meanwile the carer came to my door for me to move Van.........
I wasn't in .........
So she got the Ambulance to stop loading the lady in.... So She could get to drive out ..........

That level of self importance/arrogance just inflames me........

I've got my Bandit and her 125 out back in shed too......
I'm surprised nobody ever complaind about the Bandit at this rate as it doesn't and never has had a baffle in the end can since I before I bought it in 2008/9....

Probably because in the 4 below my neighbour has just sold his GSX1400 but still has a couple bikes their boy owns in the garage and the others son [Who'sabout 45] has has at last count a kawasaki versys ........[It'll be the 650 about 2016 reg but not the original]

Not a great deal happening being busy with work.  Two 4' sofas that pull out to make almost a 7' bed. Area front left is a seating cubicle for the wife to sit when driving and storage on the right. One is the 12v/240v cupboard.

20201118-144923.jpg

Mostly everything will be finished in T&G. That top cupboard now has a door and the skylight trim is not finished as i decided to take it out and replace. Its the original bus one with no ventilation so tends to drip condensation

20210221-151851.jpg

Other direction is loo/shower area and kitchen. Just finishing this as a loo just now so we can get away for the odd UK weekends and add the shower at a later date.

20200922-162135.jpg

Kitchen is now in with gas and running water.

20201101-125159.jpg

And that is about where i stall am. Gardening is great this time of year but you dont get much time to yourself.
