Noticed my fuel tank frame/support starting to look a little rusty. No holes yet. Do these give problems and mot fails? What do others do - repair or replace?

Never had any issue son any of my 4 of these vehicles, although I know my current van was treated to a new tank cradle in its past life. So I guess that was a problem back then, like everything under there it was likely full of rust.

This will be the cradle on ebay. TBH it dont look to hard to knock something up using stainless. Then again you could get this one and take your time treating and re painting it if worried about yours.

2 of the 4 mounting points on mine was rotted through. i actually welded mine back up by wrapping steel around the pipe and welding it where it was strong. i then painted it all with a few coats of paint with built in rust converter. i then drilled 2 small holes at the lowest points then ran some old hot waxyol i had in an old electric fryer (dont ask) into it.
dont think its going to rust for a long time.
its why when you see it in my youtube videos, its yellow

Words of wisdom: Internally rust proof the sills and subframe! both skins!!. There's always user serviceable parts inside. "Oh that shouldn't have happened".
