The cooker/sink pod has detachable legs and wheels on the base, making it easier to slide in and out.
I could do, but I have an idea for a semi removable bed that will allow me to have storage for the cooker and fridge I was going to use in the van, save having to take them out every time the bed is out.
Both sets were not great and the original cards are made from hardboard, not ply and I prefer ply.
Just finished doing the final fix on the wheel arch trim, door trim and floor. Just having sliding door cards to make and the interior should be finished.
Waiting to hear back from the paintshop for a price and when they can get it done also.
Unfortunately, the ikea bed is a little to wide for the wheel arch trims, so I am going to make one instead.

Well, I thought that was the end of my cooling problems. The system isnt leaking from the pipe I replaced, there is now a intermittent leak from the front nearside, just behind the bumper. I have taken the van out twice, gone back to it and there has been a puddle of coolant under the van. The low coolant light has come on both times also. To make things more complicated, I took the van to the garage for them to take a look and guess what? It didnt leak all the time they had it. It also hasn't leaked since getting it back. So now I don't feel like taking it too far in case it starts leaking. Will have to see how it goes.
Oh the joys of motoring!
I sorted the problem by using some high temp plastic joining pipe. I had to slim down the end that went in to the thermostat housing, but it seems to be working fine now.
Hi Tiree,
Its at a standstill at the moment due to a breakdown. A small piece of metal pipe coming out of the thermostat housing had corroded from the inside over the years and finally let go about a week ago. Fortunately I was only 2 mins from home when it went. Ive tried finding some replacement pipe of the correct diameter, but without luck and trying to find a replacement thermostat housing is proving tricky. Its annoying as I use the van for work and am having to use the car instead. Once it is sorted though, I shall be booking it in at a bodyshop for the doors, bumpers and wheels to be painted.
I bonded the ply to the floor in the back of our van. Did it before on my VW T4 and it was brilliant. Used a product called stixall.
It could give your insurance provider enough to deny a claim if the van should be classed as a camper and is not.
Nice one! That was a result. I looked at one from a taxi breaker on ebay before buying the taxi I had for spares and they wanted £120.
I use propane as it freezes as lower temps than butane and we tend to camp in winter as much as summer. I believe it has a slightly higher pressure, so you get a better flame, although don't quote me on that. I had a boiler in a caravan that would go out with butane as if the pressure was to weak, but the propane burned constant and strong.
Been too busy working to get much done. I have purchased a roof rack for the van, so I don't have to put too much work related stuff in the back.
I also need to motivate myself a bit more to go out and do stuff. I have the flooring to put in the van, but it is up at our unit and is buried at the back, so I keep putting it off. The end of the week should be a bit more quite, so maybe I will have some updates over the weekend.
I like what you did for the bed. Looks proper. Hopefully we get enough sun this year to make it all worthwhile!
Not a lot going on at the moment due to the weather, but I have managed to swap the locks on the slide doors over and bought two new door locator guides, which have made the door fit a bit more snug. I have also removed the taxi signs
The locks were not as straight forward as I thought. I was hoping to just swap the handles and keep the gubbins that came with the door, but it had all been bodged badly with string and cable ties. On top of that it still contained the motion locking mechanisms, which needed disabling. I had to drill out the rivets holding the mechanisms in on both doors and swap them over. I took me a bit longer than I had hoped, but it all works fine and was a bit more daunting in prospect, than in reality.
I have bonded the ply floor in place and am just waiting for a dry day to cut the vinyl flooring to shape. Then the interior panels can be fitted and it wont be far off done then.
More flex as it never completely sets. They use it on the seams in caravan construction to account for the movement.
What type of silicon are you using? If its standard bathroom type silicon, it wont work properly.
Like vaz mentions, sikaflex is the best product for this type of application.
Casper,
The dash vent must be a common problem, as the one in the taxi is broken as is the one in my van.
The van also doesn't have a roof aerial for some reason.
Sorry about that.
Only the van, the taxi and the MGF are ours. The other cars are our next door neighbours. The taxi is going on Saturday morning, but is being replaced on the drive by a VW Lupo for the wife.
I will check for the bits you requested tomorrow and get a price for you.
Fitted the taxi doors today. Just need to take the decals off and change the locks over, so they are on the same key. Will need to sort the bit of bodywork behind the doors and have the doors themselves painted.
I also had to do a temp fix on the exhaust as a hanger had rotted clean off, leaving a hole half way up the exhaust.
Last weekend I got the cambelt, waterpump and tensioner done and had a oil and filter change, so that's another job off the list.
I apologise for the vans dirty appearance, this is because I haven't had chance to clean it as it has been used for work.
It has done 2400 miles since a week last Monday.
Last call for any parts on the van before it gets scrapped at the weekend.
Hope you got it sorted.
The rubber seal sits over a lip around the aperture of the back doors.
I did test the heater and it all seems ok. Did you want the control panel from the front? I will only dispose of it otherwise.
