My 1999 dispatch has just failed its mot on a rotten torque control bar on the rear axle.
Has anybody got one they can sell me please or point me in the right direction to get 1? I have tried citroen, GSF etc to no avail.
Thanks.
Den.
I did do a google search regarding cables and both of your threads came up.
I have the early dispatch and my cables new and old don't appear to have this white clip that you both mention. I will have to take some pics of my cables when I can.
Thanks vaz2121 for the reply.
"Syncromesh on reverse" I'm afraid was a senior moment..
After disconnecting the cables and double checking everything else I was still not 100% sure what was the trouble but took a huge gamble and ordered a set of cables.
A few days later they arrived from Germany and I managed to fit them when we finally had a decent bit of weather. Once the old cables were removed completely, I found that I could hardly move them by hand, I think the plastic liner on the inner cable on the one that went to the weighted lever had worn and was coming apart and binding up against the inside of the outer.
Once the new ones were fitted reverse was fine, it does feel at times that the cables have become disconnected the gearchange is so light.
The only thing I have not done yet is to fit the large bung that holds the cables steady through the floor, I’ve tried the usual stuff such as silicon spray and slathering the rubber and the bung with Mr sheen but it’s a tight fit so has been left for now, any tips?
I have a bit of a dilemma with my 1999 1.9d dispatch.
Over the last couple of years I have had trouble on and off with a stiff gearchange. A liberal dosing of spray down the selector cables and all over the linkages etc has cured it for a few months at a time but now after the last episode of it misbehaving I have a bit of trouble with reverse gear.
It” feels” like its in via the gear lever, the reversing lights come on but when you release the clutch you can hear it grinding, a heavy tug on the lever stops the noise and it goes into gear but if you release your grip on it it jumps out. When I say jumps out the gear lever doesn’t fly back into neutral.
I cant work out if the cable is stretched as there is no adjustment on the cable, or reverse syncro in the box has gone. Everything else regarding the gearchange appears to be ok.
I cant see a way of cobbling the cable up to see if I can get any sort of adjustment to confirm that the cable is at fault, 50 quid for a set of cables just to see if that is the problem is not an option.
The van is getting on now but would like another year or 2 out of it so am hoping a member in the know can advise.

Its bolted to the top of the exhaust manifold with a couple of bolts (which will almost certainly break off..), the other end is held by one of those crimp type clamps. I am not sure if I need to be tackling this from underneath or from above.
Meant to say its a 1999 dispatch 1.9d dw8
Has anybody ever had trouble with the metal EGR pipe that goes to the exhaust manifold? Mines come completely away from the manifold end and I'm wondering if there is a easy way of sorting this as access is very restricted. At the moment I have the plastic inlet manifold off as the glow plugs need changing but access is still tight.
I had 1 of the power steering flexy hoses go on my 1999 dispatch 1.9d so I took them off and down to a hydraulic place near me and they replaced 2 perished ones. It isn't the nicest jobs to take these off as they are a mile long and the fluid everywhere doesn't help. I have now found that they have crimped them in the wrong position as the pipes wont go where they are supposed to. Has anyone got any pics of the pipes where they go under the van, or do they fancy taking some for me? They are the 2 flexys over the top of the REAR of the subframe from the cooling pipes under passenger floor.

I had to replace my front subframe last year for my mot. The job itself was no problem, the biggest headache was finding a decent one. Ended up getting 1 sent down from Yorkshire..

Seems nobody knows the answers to my questions
never mind. I have left out f25 for now and will look again in a week or 2 as I need to get floor matting out as its still streaming and also mot is due in few days so I don't want to go upsetting anything else, its all working as it should for now.
F25 is in the interior light circuit and this stopped working a while ago as did the left lights on buzzer, will update when I can, thanks for the suggestions so far.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Pulling F25 in fusebox under dash turns lights off, is the dispatch owners handbook posted by Tiree the correct handbook for my early 1999 model? Also what is inside the fusebox under the dash? please tell me its not a pcb
sorry for so many questions

Thanks for the links. If the wiring to the stalk is disconnected and the lights are still on as mentioned in my first post then surely I shouldn't need to start stripping down the switch?? I will take the front dash panel off later and have a good look. I should have mentioned that a while back the drain tubes in the bulkhead were partially blocked, a 2 minute job that got never got done till the tidal wave bathed the fuse box and filled the heater motor and the footwells up. I did dry it all up and everything still worked ok.

I have downloaded a couple of manuals but I cannot see any relay that would keep all the sidelights on?? Could some please clarify Caspers comment in post 2 regarding a new relay? Trying to stay on the KISS principle
Regards Den
Thanks for all the replies, is there 1 relay that would cause this problem? as the only relays I can see that have anything to do with lighting are the 2 under the bonnet in the fuse box, when these 2 are pulled the lights are still on. There is a green relay behind the glovebox that has melted but upon removal they are still on. I dont have any data on component locations etc so I could do with a bit more help if that's ok.

Hello, I have a 1999 Citroen Dispatch 1.9D and have a problem with the lights as they will not turn off. The sidelights at front and rear and dash lights all stay on even though they are switched off, I have to disconnect the battery every time I park up. This problem has happened once or twice before and has cleared itself up but this time it hasn't and now the battery is starting to suffer as I sometimes forget to disconnect it. I thought the problem may of been the light switch but pulling the multi-plugs from the back of the light switch still hasn't switched them off.
Any ideas please?
Regards
