As far as I know Cv the same abs/non abs, just knock ring off if it causing a problem.

Jesus, is it not basic iso din? - I need towire dab in to a 1992VW, long before iso din... you lot are lucky lol
Nowt wrong with going larger. I did it a few years back and bought an LDV Convoy. Remember VW comes with an idiot tax. Anything with VW embossed is double the price and if you start calling it a Vee Dub ill drive through to Livi myself and poke you in the eye with a blunt pencil.
giant cow wie joint in it's mug does not bother me, what bothers me is you would poke me in the eye with a bulnt pencil and not just hand me a blunt? sheesh. Lol, been a while for that mind you. Lol.
That would be great, thanks. No rush unless they are in your way.
I expect to be at St Mary's Loch from around the 12th Feb for at least a few weeks. You could drop them off there if you happen to be on a trip. Nice quiet pitch with hookup so no worries about split charge if you bring a fan heater. All fees covered by me of course.
Otherwise I could come to you during that time.
Thanks of the invite bud, much appreciated, but way work going the T4 nowhere near ready, maybe a week or so i will take it a drive lol, although I've got the next 2 days off, not driven it properly yet - If you not too far away I could always pop past in the MK4 golf today/tomorrow.
hahah
... why is there no puke emoji...lol Nae room for a bike or anything, only one use that van eh!
I will take the wheel bearing and am desperate for a near side mirror Stu if you find them.
Happy to pay fair price and able to collect.
OK bud, can just have the CV and bearing if want (no charge), I remember having mirrors but did not seem them while clearing space to make T4 fit my garage, it's a good meter longer than this dispatch lol. I'm right in the middle. Bathgate so up to you if you want to come here or can arrange meet you somewhere at some point maybe, if I get heater/split charge etc installed in the T4 this week I may head moffat way at weekend, if my quiet haunt/parkup still useable.
Forgot I had these, free to anyone that wants, can pay postage for me to send or pick up/meet/Central Scotland.
Think I have wing mirrors there too.

Fk the posh lot, I do my own thing, wont make it a full pointless "look at me tat" either, as they all seem to do - 1st mod I've ordered some of the proper curtins instead of boghing it with tint or spray paint, bar that once no fker can see it will be as bodged as it was before LOL, cheapest safest way lol.
My new concern is.. how do I fit it inmny garage to work on it and keep it dry/get door shut? Lul, the dispatch just fitted, T4 a good half meter longer.

It's a sad day but I've no choice room/financially/mentally heh, she;s away to scrap heaven come 11am tomorrow - I will try my best to hang about on the forums and help if/where I can, it would be good to keep in touch as although i'm moving to a old T4, it's still part of the scene that we all want, old/reliable home from home, I would like to thank everyone on here, including Ken, Dragon Lord, etc etc etc, all very good reguilar folks that have been here over the last few years, would be good to keep in touch.

Time to spend money and cut fingers etc on the Vw T4 making it a proper camper! - Watch this space lol.
I know it's not a quick one, but maybe you could help this guy out with a fuel pump?
With the hours I'm working I don't have time for that mate sorry
It's now sat on the drive waiting to go... had someone offer me £600 at like 10pm... too late pal lol, its booked for 11am and already been paid for it somehow.

Bye Bye shtiroen almost dispatched, uyou were very good while you lasted and it's a shame it come to this, but need t he space etc etc or I would have tried to fix it eventually.
I'll try my best to hang about on th forums still, if I can offer any advice, thank you Ken and all the hard core regulars for helping me with stuff, it;s been much appreciated and would like to stay in touch, I may haave a vw now but its still all about doing it as cheap as hell to get away from it all, I hope it wil serve me well that way, but we shall see haha - I'll be sure to tell you its downfalls anyway.
You guys are awesome, thank you for being there/useful.

Well I'm very jealous, that looks like a very nice van. Free of the usual showy Transporter mods and looks in good nick
luck of the draw mate, might be a shitter but seems solid enough, you needing anything off my van before they come take it away on friday? does not need to start/run as far as I know, started 1st turn of key too meh.
Edit: Or if anyone wants bits depending on if i can get it off easily, free to good home just pay postage or can pickup from me at some point.
Ah no, but sounds for the best.
I test drove a T4 with the 2.4 engine. I don't know which was less powerful between that and the DW8
How much did you get the T4 for? Pics welcome
I'm buying it though a mate at 0%, lets just say it's a good 3-4k under market value
- This is a 2.4, just had new injectors/pump/timing kit etc, gets to 60mph way quicker than my dispatch ever did and does not sound like I'm wringing it to within an inch of its life, win win for me lol. They started converting it to a camper then lost interest after the injector pump issues.

Who offered you 400 quid for scrap, never SCB. Almost scrapped the wifes car today as it failed the MOT but ended up getting the parts ordered and eek it for another year but if 400 quid was on the table.
Sorry bud I forgot to add it was that cartakeback.com lot, I think I'm gonna let it go now as picked up a 1992 T4 2.4 non turbo caravelle at weekend, better van all round to be fair!
Don't think any variants of these had disk brakes on rear buddy, maybe a C5 or C6 or whatever they were people carrier, I've never had any problem with the brakes on mines, very good actually, better than they need to be, christ I think they are better than the ones in my PD130 golf... same size disk almost, perhaps you have a vac leak somewhere on the pipework running to the brake servo? or a vac leak anywhere could possibly contribute to that.
am i the only one that uses a vacuum pump and catch tank to bleed brakes or am i just weird? does work well..
I used to but I find a gunson eazeebleed on a tyre with about 10psi in it is even quicker for bleeding things, especially like a MK4 golf when trying to bleed full system with abs.
On my van it was the exhaust knocking the chassis originally, then when I cut that short/back box deleted it, as I had not welded on a downturn to the exhaust exit I started getting another knocking from the rear as the exhaust had cooked bush for the panhard bar, but if memory serves you have fixed that already in another post eh? If it is the rear axle bushes you would feel the back end skipping about when cornering and hitting bumps while hearing the clunking, most likely?

Aw mate I cant mind now i closed all the crap I was looking at, I'm not loaded in any way but the 2014-2016 cit/pug/scud 2.0 versions seem OK price wise on finance for summit around 60/70K miles maybe £7.5 maybe at 8 at a push depending on miles/spec) - Prices all over place depending on where you look.
Considering scrapping my van as it's still off the road, needs more welding on sil land/or fiberglass filler lol, rear panhard beam or bush, wheel bearing which I've got sat there, 2 front tyres, not sure what else but given I never get any better than 30MPG regardless of fuel advance etc etc etc I think it's time to let it go.
What's peoples experiences with the 2008-2016 variants of these? I know the 1.6 is useless, have been looking at 2014/2016 2.0 ones as finance wise they are now reasonable given the mileage on them (7k for one with 53k on the clock!), and I'm quite sure if I get something that new it will last till the finance is paid off on it, looking to use it as an almost daily driverand /or camper but mostly for when my 21yr old golf is needing fixed (every month at the moment, getting boring, but I'll no sell/scrap my golf as its too much fun when it's working right lol).
Edit: Just thinking what it's had in recent times, timing belt/pump done at 107k, (now 124k I think) disks/pads rusty but like still new and will clean up plenty meat, recent wishbones, recent drive shafts/cv's, new alternator from a 2.0, umma few new bits fuel filter etc wise, new stop solenoid wired to gearbox, ummmm ummm, heater fans recently fixed, central locking works on all doors, umm, recently serviced is as in only done 200 mile then went off road, probably more I've forgotten about......faaaaaaark maybe i should just fix the bloody thing, decisions decisons lol.
Circling back to me scrapping mines if I do go that route would anyone here want it instead maybe? Been offered £400 to scrap it, considering I paid £150 for it 3 or 4 years ago, it's tempting.

Well, almost a year later than my last response, still got the dispatch, still off road but still starts/stopas goes, plan is to maybe get it on the road in October, still need to do the panhard though, tiny bit if plating on one sill and try get some cheap tyres for the front - The Joys! - Hope you all been well?!
...actually who cares now, I think the head is gone in this crap.
I'm reading this thread with great interest, as I have a blower issue as well. Will the fan be totally dead if the resistor fails? On many cars the blower will still run on full speed when the resistor fails, but not on the lower settings.
I forgot all about this post, sorry mate, getting old! lol - It turned out the alternator had blown, while it had not killed any fuses/relays it possibly caused a surge on the heating circuit, after changing alternator for a 2.0 higher ampage one I still had no fans, I ended up stripping the slider/heat etc selector down and cleaning all the contacts, put back together and still no fan, started poking about in the fuse box with the relays on passenger side, found many of the contacts on the relays had corrosion, cleaned all those, fuses all OK.. put ignition on and fan has worked since lol! bloody thing.

Hi Folks,
A family member went and bought a van without asking for my advice or taking me to look at it first, so far I've just painted a new left side bonnet hinge/stay as one on it was collapsed... then I discover the original ignition barrel has been changed for a version 1 key/barrel, while rest of van with working fob is a version 2 key that looks very similar to a VW key, anyway... does anyone local/central scotland ish have the software or cable so I can look at cloning everything to a new key? As far as I've read all I need is a new transponder and should be able to use a used ignition/original version so (SIP22) key to pair up with immobiliser etc ring.... is this correct? lol.
Any help/advise appreciated on this.
Many thanks,
-Stu.
(Edit: Still got my dispatch but been off road since October due to finances and work stuff).
I welded my last Convoy up with the side of a washing machine. Some filing cabinet and a computer case. If that is a gasless i found getting a better earth clamp end made for a better sparking end
Your earth looks weak and on dirty steel
true it could do with a cable and clamp upgrade.
