So is the sensor the thing on top of the coolant bottle, right side ?

#2 Re: Maintenance » Coolant light » 2022-10-21 22:22:59

I would describe it as a saucepan lid over water lol.

Update......BERT is going to be saved. Ive had 2 mechanic friends come round to view today and said its not as bad as the garage was telling me. My son is a mechanic and he and his mate are going to sort it over next few weeks.

I tried posting it but im having no luck, i never was good at adding a pic, not sure what im doing wrong.  The MOT sheet will be showing on e bay tonight at 7pm.  Im hoping someone will buy it there, its up for scrap value of 200quid.
Biggest fail was front subframe needs welding or replacing

Hi. Bought a new battery and for whatever reason my voltage on it is dropping each day.  Started at say 12.56 then after a week checking each day, today was 12.24.
It was same for my old battery which i thought was just old.
I have checked making sure no lights been left on or stereo,   any thoughts.  Cheers to all

#10 Re: Maintenance » Starter ? » 2021-08-29 10:13:41

Just bought new test meter and battery shows 10.9, so going to test a spare battery in my work which is same as mine and if volts are good ill try that battery.

#11 Re: Maintenance » Starter ? » 2021-08-29 07:01:42

Its the same battery thats been on since i got the van in early 2019.   64AH   510A EN 12v   but could be my multi reader not right though i had it on 20 setting but going to borrow a mates tester to double check.  Thanks

#12 Re: Maintenance » Starter ? » 2021-08-28 15:25:29

Just took battery out to charge and tested with volt meter tester and it shows 15.
It did take a couple tries to get the meter to show as it kept showing just the number 1. Im going to change negative earth cable tomorrow which i take it is just the short cable going  off the battery to left front wing  short cable really.  If still dont start tomorrow i guess Solenoid next option but i will ring the garage on Tuesday that done the starter last month.

Hi all. Just wondering on your thoughts but my van had a starter put in back in March 2020. Then never got to use my van due to Covid times and last month it had starting issues again and another starter put in.  Now tonight i was going out and the van never turned over again. All lights came on but nowt. Starter again or just a faulty one been put in ?

Hi Bad robot, thanks for offer but my son said he will get one through his trade discount as a mechanic,  I've tried using my Allen keys to loosen the bolts but we'll stuck, I'll borrow some socket sets weekend, and thank you for the offer.

Hi Vaz, yes I been looking at local parts dealers around me and so far Halford been cheapest, but I have a mate who will test it today if I get it started and take it to him, he can get better prices too through his mechanic trade discounts.  I just need it to start later lol lucky for me my work is walking distance so no to worried if can't sort today, I'll check out your 096 sized option, thanks for advice.

Hi guys, probably easy to guess but my van struggled to start couple times and dash lights dimmed and could hear it might die so I'm hoping simple replace battery but any suggestions on best place or what brand to look at getting. Cheers all
