#26 Re: General Discussion » Wind noice from front side windows, new rubber seals? » 2020-02-14 10:28:28

There is noice from the sliding door as well, but thats under control. During winter I have the partition wall in and thats insulated as well, so no noice from the sliding door or my roof hatch.

So yes the noice I'm after is from the side front windows, both sides. My father recently bought the same type of van, a 2003, mine is 1999. And his van is A lot quieter, changing back to my van its easy to hear the wind noice from the front doors/windows.

The seal around the door looks ok, its easy to see that it seals from the grim and dirt and I cant see any problems.
The window seals are a bit different, the side and top is pretty hard after 20 years.
The outside bottom seal is so so, if there is water on the window and I lower it it just touches some parts of the window.
The inside bottom seal is 3-4mm off the glas, making for a nice big gap down into the door.

I have A lot of wind noice from my side windows, got hold of some wind deflectors in plastic but that did not help much.

Noticed that the rubber seals on the bottom of the windows are pretty bad, the inner one dont even touch the glass any more.

Got any tips for improving this?
Is it possible to buy new seals? Would be awesome to get new seals all around the windows.

#28 Re: General Discussion » Airbag light on a 1999 expert 1.9 xud » 2020-02-13 23:02:02

Well today the airbag light stopped flashing, all is back to normal.
Never got around to lifting the rubber carpet up to look under there..
But I did replace the relay and socket for the automatic dipped beams and in the process I had to take the cover of the steering column. This might have given the slip ring for the airbag a nudge and made it all work, dont know if thats the case but if not it just "fixed it self".

That looks nice.
Got a set for next to nothing but they need some fixing up before getting som rubber on them, will give it a go and see if it works ok.

I got hold of a set of 15" Alfa Romeo alloys, 5/98 and 58.1mm center bore.
But they are ET40 instead of the normalt ~ET30 the expert has.
Do you think it will work and look ok? Or do I need to get spacers? Would 5mm spacers work?

The airbag light came on today while driving. It flashed for about 5-10 minutes and then lit solid.

The van is a expert 1999 with the xud9 engine.

Any suggestions on what this might be and where to start?

I have a Peugeot expert mkI, 1999 with the XUD9TE engine.
My rev counter does not work, sometimes it jumps a bit but most of the time it just sits at 0.

Does anyone know where the rev sensor is located?
Or any other tips on how to diagnose this?
