I've no clue but I'd assume they go in as you say, they are available as filters only or with holders.
RegW wrote:Are cabin filters a thing for these vans?
just been looking and wondering
If not maybe I should just go and buy a pair or ladies tights
and cut them up for that.
If nothing else, its a jolly good excuse to browse the ladies underwear departmentAFAIK I had a filter to replace in my hands... after service I had a filter spare, as mechanic didn't change it. Asked him- he goes, only if yoor van is with Air-Con...
Okay
Yes they're only listed for vehicles with air con but I don't see why you couldn't fit them anyway.
I think it would be a good location for your switch wire for that relay as in it wouldn't allow power through unless the motor is running but I think for a charge wire it'd be too small.
@northface well done for getting it sussed, hopefully it helps out Joshwaa too!

Forgot to post this earlier, this is the three piece set of cabin filters with holders.
Autodoc lists a cabin filter and pollen filter for my van (Same part number)
I recently hoovered out a load of leaf compost and cleared the drainage channels that exit in the wheel arch.
Great thanks for that!
It's in position R1 so I followed the manuals description, however your notes would make much more sense given that I've tested the terminal and it's only live when the motor is running.
Be sure to unzip it into its own folder or it'll be everywhere:D

From Tiree & Monkeynut
Gimme a sec I'll link it!
I'm not sure about that modded wiring in the post linked but my loose wire definitely belongs there.
When I removed the smaller nut on the alternator the remainder of my broken wire that had been looped round it was still there.
On my van anyway it seems to be a switch discharge relay according to the electrical section of the manual I found on here.
Awesome forum!
I found what I needed in this post from another forum member!

Under the bonnet, behind the battery,
There is a fuse and relay box.
I have the owners manual but it only lists the fuses and their functions not the relays.
I have a loose thin wire behind my alternator that seems like it should bolt onto the smaller terminal on my alternator.
With the ignition off and the wire connected nothing happens.
With the ignition on and the wire connected I can hear a relay clicking.
My question is does anyone know what this relay is for? (Green arrow)
There also appears to be a missing relay does anyone know what this one is for? (Red arrow)

Good find!
From your other post about the trapdoor that may be where the cd changer was supposed to be fitted.
I researched the same thing a while back but just opted for an fm transmitter that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket it has Bluetooth and also a USB charging port which is handy.
I have a few small tools stored in mine, the cavity goes right down and towards the rear you can store quite a lot in there!
Mine has a heavy cable ran from the battery with an inline fuse that powers a permanently live 12v socket towards the rear doors which I assume was for that very same purpose.
That post has been quite helpful, thanks.
I had to dash out and check, it seems the battery light on the dash works whether it's connected or not.
When the engine is running the light goes out as it should.
With the engine off I noticed I could hear a relay clicking on and off as I touched the wire off the smaller of the two terminals but also off the motor so it might be a ground for a relay.
I'll have to wait til tomorrow find out though as it's gotten dark now but at least I have a direction to go for tomorrow.
That's probably the most sensible option, and money well spent for peace of mind.

Could anyone identify where that thin wire at the back of my alternator should be attached to? It's just sat there on its own and I don't see any terminals sticking out of anywhere with no wire attached.
Blue WAV friend!... Wingnut, a Hubnut fan?
Hello fellow blue Wav pilot!
I didn't know of hub nut til now but that was a nice video to watch on a lazy Sunday morning.
The Expert OEM numbers above are from the actual part I bought.
Dunno what's on the belt, it was fitted a while back and all can I say it works.
I did look at the label on the ECU and that was blank so no help there
I think I'm correct in saying the 16V's have a second cam shaft driven by a chain from
the one driven by the cam belt so may well be a common size. One thing that does piss me off about these vans is no easy access to info
No Haynes manuals or workshop service manuals that I can find and as they're largely regarded as obsolete and abandoned now, probably little chance of finding any.
I did buy and download what was offered as a 'covers everything' manual one which was a rip off really
and is a pita to use as it runs XP of all things in virtual machine.
Even when it is up and running it's not totally useless but clunky and more parts than procedure oriented
The wiring diagrams use Citroen or PSA conventions which can take a while to extract useful info out of.
I'm no stranger to all sorts of wiring diagrams and schematics but they're not fun to use as I had to keep cross
referencing stuff to build my own files out of them and convert compressed svgs to jpgs and such
Did I say not fun? they're a PITA
Well you've saved me the bother of buying that online manual, thanks!
I thought the same about the twin cam driver by chain but I looked on the Eper link on this site and discovered that they had the chain driven second cam and also a traditional style (belt around both cam pulleys) to further confuse matters

Do you think the leaf washed down from below the windscreen or got flicked up from the road? If it came from above plugging the drain with some sponge would allow water drip through but prevent larger bits from getting in again.
I see the Gates TBkit for my expert has the same OEM numbers as the Scudo
which isnt really surprising as they're fundamentally the same vansScudo

Yes they use the same motors as far as I know.
Is the number OE 831.74? If so It appears yours is indeed the 16v 110hp
