#51 Re: Camper Conversions » Citroen Dispatch best route through bulk head » 2021-02-23 21:53:00

ok thanks a lot for your input guys. It is really appreciated!

I have had several people promising me to help out with this conversion but they're a no show. I guess it's gonna be a slow process for me... hopefully youtube will be all that I need.

On a plus note today... the DODO DEAD MAT DUO turned up. So I will now start planning on taking the plywood out of the back and giving it a good clean.

Hey.. will white spirit be a good degreaser for cleaning the inside?

Hi mate,

Yeah I seen that grommet at the passenger door hinge - but I assumed that I would have to drill through the engine bay to get to the side panel/passenger hinge. Am I correct in that or is there a pre existing hole within the engine bay that will take me straight to the passenger hinge grommit?

Cheers Kenbw2

Hi Peeps,

So I am getting nearer to installing a split charge and leisure battery.

Can anyone who has experience of passing cable from the engine bay through the bulk head, then into the rear - where the best place is to do this  in a 2004 Citroen Dispatch van?

The most cleanest place - existing grommet hole or something?

Cheers.

I like the fact its made with High Grade Butyl Construction and the liner in the Medium van kit is:

What do you think?

Can you link me your China defining foam please?

Ahh yeah, I think it was that link. You are good! Cheers man.

#56 Re: Camper Conversions » Split Charge Kit Recommendations? » 2021-02-10 20:58:23

I don't think so.

I recall seeing it but forgot to message myself into it. It was about arranging future meet ups across the UK - and that a list was to be made of people interested or something.

Anyway if you come across it then link me it please.

Once my van has been done up then I'll be up for that.

Here's a list of what I plan to get to do my van up...I opted for the Dodo stuff as I feel you pay for superior quality (not sure if you will be able to see my cart list):

If you can see it, what do you think?

Ah I bought the same battery from a place that delivered for £106.

Do you know where that link on here was for future road trips casper?

@casper

For roughly the same price I may aswell have the 110 amp cable. It shouldn't do any harm to my 115 ah leisure battery eh?

Cheers for the link.

@casper

Nice one on that professional link as I am expecting a 70 amp cable one tomorrow - I'll send that back to get the 110 amp one as its the same price anyway.

Very nice.

Is the LiFePO4 battery compatible with a split charge relay?

@tee_cee
Ah I just seen your blogg with the dimensions. Great job!

#67 Re: Camper Conversions » Where to put a leisure battery » 2021-02-02 22:08:13

@Shakes

Great question as I am at that stage

@tee_cee

What are the dimensions of your battery please? As I am thinking of purchasing the NCC rated Exide ER550 115Ah leisure battery: L 345mm, W 175mm H 235mm.

Hi Guys... and gals,

I have been given the following quote from a motor conversion company for my little 2004 Dispatch van (they gave me a rough approx size of being 8m2 -  Sounds large to me):

Insulation £50 (don't know what type)
Altro flooring £72
Carpet £79
Approx total = £ 201. Does that reasonable?

Anyone can advise on a better deal elsewhere (i.e. B & Q materials)?
Quality brands for insulation, carpet lining, flooring, leisure battery, split charge relay?

Thanks

@Vaz2121

Sorry pal... only seen your reply.

Thanks for the info dude.

#73 Re: General Discussion » Tyre pressure » 2021-01-30 22:28:56

I have pumped all my tyres to around 2.6 bar and it appears it has improved the fuel economy.

One thing to think about is the stopping distance. If its over inflated then it will take longer distance or even skid...scary thought really.

Good news..my Dispatch passed its MOT with no advisories so I may treat myself to some of those awesome looking tyres mentioned earlier in this post!
