I need to hear more about that 306
Interestingly the 306 was the first thing i noticed as i loved them cars. Well apart from my two as they were 1.9D but my works car was a 2.0 Turbo and it got driven like it was stolen 24 hours a day for two years with only the regular servicing for a leased car and took it all in its stride. I was reading about the dash cam but in my head it was like a Charlie Brown Cartoon when he was on the phone to his mum
I put cheap 20 odd quid reverse cameras in my camperbus and work van but more just for reversing rather than security. As they are not for security they are on the outside and less need for keeping the glass clean. They work well and only had to replace a camera once as water got inside the lens but as yet the replacement has bee good. I have a nextbase recorder for when i go on larger trips if i ever needed recordings for legal reasons.
Interesting, I could do with this to fix the leaks in my roof that I would never in a million years track down
Does it clean off? If it doesn't leave a mess I could just pour it into the roof rack gutters and let gravity do the rest
I never had to clean it as i used it on the inside where a fiberglass roof meets the steel sides of the bus. As it was getting cladding i just left it but, It is a white liquid that you can wipe away excess with a damp cloth and any dry spills can be washed away using white spirits.
Horses mouth

This picture. I am not convinced this is the issue. (Yellow arrow) Why is it still dry but under the intake its wet?? My thinking is white arrow. This seem could be leaking down into the cab. For the sake of 15 quid get a large bottle of Captain Tolley. Its a very fine white liquid that gets in the smallest of cracks and expands as it dries making a permanent seal. Park one side into the kerb to allow the liquid to get deep into the corners. Run a bead along the seal and give it half an hour and give another bead. Give that a few hours and stick the other side in the kerb and repeat.
I now own an LDV Convoy mate. They are prone for leaks what i have cured with great success. For fine leaks this stuff is the dogs bollocks
Doubt that last one is your issue. Is the screen not bonded?
What. No twelve Virgins

Small world.
Never mind small world. When i looked at this post at tea time the wife just went out to bring the washing in. I was about to shout out the window if she wanted a cup o tea made but she never made the back green. Guess who she was talking/gossiping to at the front gate

Ha. That is my Neighbour along the street in that Convoy.
Hi another question
cookers whats everyone using
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00UALXY6Q/ … _lig_dp_it
been looking at this and running it on a couple of Gaz bottles .
Anyone used it will be used in the vav but will build in an extractor and open a window when in use .
thoughts please .. Ta
I had one of them. Its been rebranded may a time over the years and mine was Go Outdoors version (Identical) Worked well on Calor gas but the grill is pants. Never used it in the van as i had a three sided awning what was used as an extra room (Kitchen) and if a warm night living room. Shop around as i paid 10 quid for an as new version.
Still booting myself for not buying that at the time. I wanted a turbo so much but i was just learning to weld and it looked way beyond me at the time.

Only 10 minutes? Those are rookie numbers
It really is driving me mad. Just now i am working my way up the floor, Bubble foil then thin ply but rather than buy a sheet of ply i am doing it with of cuts as i go. When i cut the bubble foil and put the scissors or Stanley knife down next is screw the bit ply down. Do you think i can find the bloody scissors/Stanley again
You got the ovel fuel filer housing with the ring clasp. Aftermarket ones as renowned for being crap to get air tight. I would try and feed the engine from a jerry can. If it fires up OK then you have an air issue. Also bleed the piped from pump to injectors .
Not only tight, but also knowledgeable.
Glad you stuck around despite downgrading the van.
Its hard having all that extra space you know. I am in the middle of a refit and struggling to find a location for the diesel heater. On the bright side i did put my drill down then spend the next 10 minutes looking for it again
Hi ya Casper,
Just a quick update on my posting on a wobble thought to be rear suspension etc…?
![]()
I found that a rear tyre had gone out of shape…!, so my trusty old van is now driving about like a new un…Many thanks for your helpful advice…, which is what lead me to check the basics first..
Happy days. Pays being a tight Jock at times.
Ah yes, the famous Range Rover Transporter
Aye. Folk in my Scabby wee toon are easily led as they have money and no sense. What does not help is having this crowd on the edge of town
Does seem an odd one. Only other thing i can think off is a tyre on squint? Look to make sure the rim line is even all the way round the wheel. See line under tyre size...

Rattle gun distorting the wheel?? Jury is out on that one as surly it would never properly be balanced or the balance machine would tell the correct weights to compensate. however this is a reason to test the spare on each corner as it may pin point what wheel out/warped.
Ah not a Rolling Stones album post then
Have you took the spare off and swapped it with each corner? It would be rubbish to buy wheels only to find out you have a Buggered tyre or a weight missing on a drive shaft. Also would a low speed wabble not just be detectable up the steering making me think the issue is front wheel related. If correct try swapping both front to back and see if it goes away or characteristics change.
giant cow wie joint in it's mug does not bother me, what bothers me is you would poke me in the eye with a bulnt pencil and not just hand me a blunt? sheesh. Lol, been a while for that mind you. Lol.
Long time for me also. Last time for me was my Honeymoon in Amsterdam some 20 years ago. I was a heavy smoker and went to work in Bradford in the 80's. Whatever year the big fire at Valley Parade. Spend over a year there wasted and came home. It was like a switch was turned on and i could not mix it with Booze so one had to go as i would me puking by 9pm so apart from sharing a Jay a handful of times i have never missed the stuff. Love the smell of Green though (Y) Saying that anything Green is good and Livi had better win this Saturday
From what i gather you can get Bosch and Lucas ones but i will presume you need Lucas. They are the same what was in the LDV Pilots and i am sure i only paid £30 for a new one from this guy https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/400convoy?_t … 3561.l2563
Casper wrote:if you start calling it a Vee Dub ill drive through to Livi myself and poke you in the eye with a blunt pencil.
Or a "bus". Although I believe you get a free pass, your Convoy look like an ex-bus
Yeah it was a bus running round the Welsh Valleys for most of its life. MOT this Wednesday and if it does not pass i will be calling it anything but a bus
Nowt wrong with going larger. I did it a few years back and bought an LDV Convoy. Remember VW comes with an idiot tax. Anything with VW embossed is double the price and if you start calling it a Vee Dub ill drive through to Livi myself and poke you in the eye with a blunt pencil.
I run straight veg oil and have done for 3 years now, but that's in my Bosch pump van
I did run my old Lucas on biodiesel to limited success, I think you'd get away with 50:50 but it's hard to know for sure
I don't think anyone on the forum runs a Lucas on veg oil
Not pure no. I was under the impression you ran yours on a mix with the Lucas pump but unsure the percentage
