Google map link would be nice as i may want to visit the area
No worries, just saw on the other thread the heater control box thought it was yours .... can see the bulbs but unsure if they just pop out or like on the golf they are sort of part of the holder....
Fiver says pop in as i am sure the 306 was like that also looking on ebay the later vans are pop in. Dont know the wattage though. Would they not be stupidly low like 5w or even 3?
Make you own
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Colour-Perspe … iGzAoZc5tA
I see perspex strips starting at £3 odds and some other ebay links say cut to size. Dont know how you would get the slope. I was thinking clear perspex but you would see the glue through it and would you want to pop rivet up the side of your door? It would not bother me so i may look into this later but i will be sealing the O/S door up so its only the wifes side that will get the noise. Life eh! Lol
I apologise for the mixture of measurements.
The left and right sections both measure 1ft wide and 38cm highs.
The full width from lip to lip including the support bar is 66 and a half cm.I hope this is what you wanted measuring?
Cheers mate thats grand. So 38cm x 66sm is my window size. Ill fo 1cm less each way as i am just looking to pop rivet ones in place.
Another tidy looking van......... Same colour as the WAV that I tried out for a week or so middle of last year, It had same interior trim with single passenger seat.........We managed our first few days and wet and rocky nights away this year and I've just noticed that a couple heater control lights are out under the sliders.....If yours is still out, Are they just a push fit cap less bulb.......... don't suppose you can see wattage on them so as I know what to look for?
Sorry mate not got mine apart. Goody33 is pulling a heater control unit out a scrapper he has for me. Better asking him. I had a quick look in the manual but cant see anything. Ill try the handbook in a mo.
I wont be doing much to my build just now but here is where i am just now
http://mytintent.blogspot.co.uk/p/blog-page.html
To save the forum server space i use free weebly and jink the pictures to that from my Photobucket account. If you look at the menu at kleppenjagers that is a bike club in Holland that the wife and me go to every year. Looking to take the Pug this year
I'll check in the morning. I'm sorry I didn't get time today to measure the side door. I've just been mega busy today. I will do it tomorrow.
No great hurry Phil. The parts will sit in a box till i have more to do than one job anyway. Plus using the van to earn some money just now so its getting abused a tad
Just thinking aloud here so dont get exited. Is the front passenger seat single and what town are you in. Trying to think if its worth getting one and putting a swivel base under it or just buy a swivel seat. I only need the passenger to swivel.
So is it just as clean on the inside? You talking being able to stand up. I thought the floor only drops at an angle. Does it have some mechanism to prevent you driving off when down?
So how did you feel with the lack of power? 60-65 MPH should give you around 38-40MPG. 70 if the wind is behind you. Head winds are a right Bast**d. I did 90 on a big hill once. Bloody scary and noisy
Enjoy your new toy
I have popped the taxi on ebay as breaking now if anyone is interested in any parts.
Hows the back door seal? Ill have that for an extra tenner on the price in the e mail
Well, there aren't many wheelchair conversions for less - what apart from the model and price rings alarm bells? I've put a £100 deposit on it...
Unless you have a wheelchair or going to use it for a motorbike why do you need a wheelchair conversion? I dont think they are that high and i would not have bother lifting my last 750 bike up to put it in. No mater how clean it is or low mileage its still an 2001 van.
I have to go mate but honestly, That kind of money i would want newer and a 2.0T
And just to add. If you do go to view take a print of last years fail list and look for new parts or evidence that the work was done properly.
Me. I would not buy that. Over priced for what it is. 2001 1.9D. Nah get a 2.0 turbo mate. Almost every time i go out in mine i wish i got the turbo. Lack of Oomph and lower mpg plus there is doubt in your mind as you would no be here.
Its under the buttons Phil. This.....

Not 100% sure my problem is this or the knob yet as not pulled the button cover off yet. I have a busy day tomorrow but if i get back before dark o'clock ill have a look for sure. Do you do paypal and how much posted? You may as well earn some money back on your van before you scrap it. You should take some pictures of the inside whats left and see if you can sell as much as you can.
If you can wait until tomorrow, I am swapping my doors with taxi doors and I can take the ply off the old door and measure it.
Cheers mate yes. Just wanting the size before i go ordering anything.
BTW. Me i would use the Taxi back doors and Drivers/Passenger, Bonnet and wings if bolt on. Less to paint and you can get good results from two or three thin coats of Hammerite smooth paint brushed on. I did a motorbike with it and you never seen the brush strokes. Another plus with the taxi doors you will see a wind deflector at the top rear side where they meet the sliding door. Less wind noise and reduced chance of water seeping through.
Heater controls please from the Taxi if good nick and you are not going to use them.
Looking good mate.
Anyone got a naked side door and can measure the section arrowed. See how its two sections i need from Left, left section to Right, Right section and top to bottom as ill be cutting out that support bar to fit glass. Anyone looking to DIY glass there own doors dont look for van or caravan windows as they charge the earth. Look at boat windows. Save a fortune.
The radio doesn't switch on when the ignition and battery is switched off- so surely that means the wrong cable is connected like you say, and I need to find this hidden permanent ACC+ cable.
The radio should not switch on if ignition is off. So if yours will only work when ignition is on then that live ignition wire is correct. You have a cut or missing wire (Yellow i think) have a good root about as some other owner may have used it for an auxiliary or fag lighter or whatever. If need be take a feed from your fag lighter as i am sure that is on the ignition but do that as a last resort.
How annoying the slider button stalks snap off so easily. Any tricks to fix/ ugrade those?!
http://dispatchexpertscudo.org.uk/forum/img/members/395/mini_DSC_0612.jpg
Oops
My heat control one is snapped. I just use the button, lift it out and in on the right of the lider to turn down and lift button and in the left of the slider to turn up. I must get one out the scrap yard.
Where are you BTW having a left hand drive?
You might want to check your relay as well before pulling everything apart....
Now that is interesting. I wonder if the relay is my intermittent problem. It works for a while then stops but power is getting to the motor as i can hear it struggle. Push the speed slider to off for a while and back to on its fine again.
BTW if the last owner just put in a new live feed with an on/off switch it will be as he was to lazy to follow the wires back to the original problem. Has he even put a fuse in or it that feed from the original live at the fuse box. Obviously your heater works. If you are getting live from the wire after the proper heater fuse then its your slider buttons that have gone or the main wire in. That would be my theory.
Good luck.
That is to clean mate. If anyone took wires out they would have just cut them and not took the pins out. Good money is on that being an extra for a higher end model, say Air Con or the likes. Go to the main page and the forth section down you should find the manual to download. This will give your wire diagrams.
If you get desperate for quicker answers you could try the fiat forum and tell them you have a scudo
You want the bottom section if needed.
Great. I have managed to get the fascia off. Fairly straight forward. Now I need to try to get the backend box of the heater control unit out. I know it will be attached at the back to the levers for vents etc. Any ideas? Do I have to go the whole hog and take the grey lower dash panel off. It kinda looks that way.
I would think its an all in one unit Gareth. Not had mine out yet as i need to fix mine also so let us know but i would be taking that lower panel out. The three small brass screws you are looking at on that plate only look like they are holding the steel cover on.
Have a look at the ebay link picture bate. You will see one othrer screw at the top of the guator
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEFT-HAND-DRI … SwMmBVgUl2
Not took mine out yet but two screws are under the ashtray so that needs to come out first. Is that your left hand drive in the picture? If so pull the gear shift gator to the left at the bottom as two screws are under the material. Once ash tray is out you see screws for the heater controls. More screws could be under the gator at the top side.
Good luck
