I was quite happy to go back to Rout66 (Windhof) but as we were so close i thought would may as well try another and save us going so far south. Reason we go over is i have a friend who lives in south Holland (Linne) so we visit him and go to a two day bike rally slightly further north (Gemert) I have never seen so many patch clubs at the same place with no trouble. Next ear will be the sixth year of going to this event and seen one scuffle what was two drinks giving it handbags at dawn type of thing. It was actually quite funny to watch.
Two years ago we decided to add a few days and see more to head down to Cochem for a couple of days. Made the mistake of visiting Trier for a night. What a dump so last year we did Vianden in Luxembourg quick scoot down to Route66 and over to Cochem for a couple of days before heading north for the bike party.
Last year it was sore getting out our sleeping bags in the tents i decided at only 52 i was getting to old to camp so decided on this van build so more comfort. Ill run with it for a couple of years and if we enjoy the van then look into something larger. Its also handy for here as the wife has never been any further north than Oban. Having the dog kind of stopped us going up for the weekend due to B&B restrictions so now we can just go.
BTW. Have i joined this forum just as its about to die off as you seem to be the only other person who posts anything.
Thanks Vaz most helpful. I normally cross at Newcastle but looking to take the dog away with us so i dont want to leave her in the van for 13 hours. We are crossing at Dover/Dunkirk (DFDS) buy may look into tunnel if they get the immigrant problem sorted as could do without the hassle and delays.
Sorry if i missed it but did you get charged extra for the roof box and how much? If they want silly money for the extra height then i will make up a quick release and chuck it in the van before i get on the boat (You can tell im tight)
As yet my van has no windows but i do have back doors with glass yet to fit and looking for N/S side door but may put a small port hole in the other side as that door will get closed and never used again. To keep them happy if they want to look i will have bench seats along the back doors and behind seats and O/S wall. Up the wall will be a fold down bed and storage along the top so with cushions and soft furnishings it will look the part. That side of things i am not fussed about, im more concerned if they ever check the reg with DVLA as it will still be a van. I am most likely being paranoid and never have bother but always better to ask before hand.
You talking about duty free. Another bonus is Dunkirk is not far from a good tobacco shop as the wife still smokes so we get her enough for the year when we go over. Normally we go to Route66 in south Luxembourg but may not have to go down that way. No doubt being an ex trucker you will know the shops but this is the one we are going to try

We also used to take the bike over but gave that up as less room for the duty free
Busy night tonight
I could run up and down the forum naked and no one will notice.
No i never but i did pee in the corridor on the 07 floor
If rear door seal is OK look at the light cluster itself as that will have a seal round it.
What did you pay on the ferry and what crossing? Looking to take mine away next year but not sure if they charge extra for the roof box and what category do you use when booking. My van wont be getting the TAX class changed but if i say camper van when booking a ferry the price is a lot lower. As long as i put glass in i doubt they would look into the class at DFDS but thought i would ask.
Cheers
Hi, does anybody know where i can get two crew van windows for my Citroen Dispatch? They are fixed and slightly smaller than the sliding bus windows ??
Did you get one? Looking for one for my N/S door or if anyone is selling a door with glass.
Great. Been looking for a manual for a while with no joy. I have the Pug disks but dont work with windows 10.
