oil cooler ?

Hi,
I have a 2005 (55 plate) expert and noticed the coolant header is full of oil. I assumed head gasket initially but doesn't overheat and no white smoke, So I'm hopeful that it is the oil cooler based on other posts on here. I think I will have the later engine with the aluminium cooler, question is are these known to have issues as the earlier steel ones  and the oem part number please.
There are some on ebay for £30 new saying they are replacements for CITROEN /PEUGEOT 1103.H4 or 1103.N1 should these fit ?

The only other symptom that I hope is unrelated (been there for years as reported by my brother in law who I bought it off) is it feels like it is missing sometimes, but he was told that was a sticky injector.

Any advice welcome but I'm thinking for the sake of a couple of hours its worth a go to change the oil cooler
Cheers,
Rob.

Re: oil cooler ?

I always find it best to message sellers on ebay with the VIN.  Some of the listings can be very missleading.

If they confirm it fits you have evidence and would find a return easier if needed.  If it doesn't fit, they might suggest the correct one.

Re: oil cooler ?

Hi,
Thanks for the link, I had read that yesterday and followed the cross link to work out how to remove it.  I decided to remove it in the end so I could compare the new one during the week, and replace if necessary before next weekend.
(Not managed to find a torque setting yet)

Thanks,
Rob.

Re: oil cooler ?

Hi,
Since I hadn't managed to find anybody who sells a replacement for a 1103j9 cooler new as a patent part , thought I would try to test the existing one. I hooked it up to a tyre inflater  underwater and pushed it up to 75PSI and no bubbles so guess that isn't the problem.

So  I'm suppose I'm either down to new head gasket/head, swap the engine or write the van off :-{ Anybody got any rough prices for swapping engines and or head gasket.
Thanks,
Rob.

If you still wanted to replace it there are a few cross references for DW8 / WJZ  engines, that I found on the net eBay search
