My van is same age and have had same issue where you see milage with a torch but No back light...........

Do just as Happy Camper says It needs a bulb so do them all.............

Not all of mine illuminate every single time inc milage but if i give dash a slap they usually do but at times other go out ..............

To be fair I'm on my 3rd or 4th dash binnacle .......... So dirty or loose connections probably ............
(I'll do it one day........ vans only covered about 100,00)

Re: mileage not lighting up

Hi Guys
Thanks for your help. I bought the van last weekend, its a one owner 1.9D  non turbo with 84000 miles. the engine seems good, interior is rough.
I need a new drivers seat base(its a three seat van) the suspension seems a bit soft (bit of a bounce on the front end after speed bumps)
any ideas where to get the best deal on spares? Also any tips on taking the dash out?
Thanks again

Also well worth checking out AutoDoc.com as they have regular sales and a big range of mk1 spares.
