gave her a full service today, cant have been done in a while, all the paint had flaked off the oil filter for example! she feels much better now

#3 Re: Maintenance » Running rough » 2017-01-25 12:31:10

well, ive had a busy week and done a fair few miles and its not missed a beat! ive cleaned the EGR valve and changed the fuel filter, maybe thats all it needed, fingers are crossed!

What does the white smoke smell of ? that is the big clue,  leaking seal? could be as losing compression and not burning the diesel in one of the cylinders,, have a look around the injectors for signs of leakage  (easy fix if you get the injector out)

It's sort blue white kinda smells like diesel to me! How do I tell there are signs of leakage? And then what to do if there is a leakage? I don't know diesels well sadly.
Done 100 miles without it happening and then it just came out of the blue again, engine management light was on for a bit too

mega full on with work this weekend but ill try to have a look on sunday and play with the hinge. i like the idea of the deadlocks tongue
i have actually stopped the air coming in with a load of foam tape but the door sticking out cant be helping fuel economy

#7 Re: Maintenance » Running rough » 2017-01-13 17:00:21

I've been advised it's probs not the head gasket as it's intermittent, that sound right?

#8 Re: Maintenance » Running rough » 2017-01-13 16:13:53

So with that in mind I wanna keep my eye on the coolant level? I've been told it could be injector seal leak

Much neater getting the lining out a E7

I got mine for 20 quid  big_smile

good call on that one chap, i think ill be doing that, i suppose it will naturally offer a degree of insulation too. my only worry is where ill be mounting my racking as i was planning on screwing it to the ply roof!

#12 Re: Maintenance » sliding door sticking out at the top » 2017-01-11 18:12:21

ahh i see, you are on about this here middle roller?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-EXPER … xyMxpRxfWV
how can my existing one be adjusted? i cant see any obvious way of doing so

#13 Re: Maintenance » sliding door sticking out at the top » 2017-01-11 17:38:43

Oat - i have tried having a play with the locators but it seems to make no difference to me.

Casper - ill have a look in a sec, so do you suggest a new roller arm?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-EXPER … XQS6pRw-YE
for example?
i cant visually see any issues with mine mind you

#15 Re: Maintenance » sliding door sticking out at the top » 2017-01-11 14:41:53

think i know what you mean, so the middle hinge can be adjusted then?

#16 Re: General Discussion » TinTent Two » 2017-01-10 21:51:24

i know where that is yeah, yeah sounds like youve dodged a bullet there, let the search continue!

well i might as well make a thread! this is going to be a fairly low budget and low spec build that ill be upgrading when time and money allows.
started insulation today

so my plan as it stands is to create an open top chest on the passengers side the width of the sliding door and to the left of that some generic van racking over the wheel arch.
not entirely sure what to do for a bed yet as i need the drivers side space to fit 2 motorbikes so will need to be clever with that!

hi all
one of my sliding doors (drivers side) sticks out at the top, it lets a boat load of air in and dont half make some noise...feels like it wants to be pulled in more at the top but i cant see any way of doing so, anyone had this before?

#19 Re: General Discussion » bought a van :D » 2017-01-10 20:06:08

cheers for the ideas casper, i think im going to incorporate one of those open top benches in my build now!
cheers for the info monkeynut ill keep my eyes peeles for some, triple seats aint half uncomfortable!

#20 Re: General Discussion » TinTent Two » 2017-01-10 20:04:15

when are you collecting it? im in Leicester, swing by for a hello!

#21 Re: General Discussion » bought a van :D » 2017-01-05 16:02:48

very much like the idea of these swivel seats, how easy are they to fit?

been thinking of one of these for a bed http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351754633474?var=620687618358

can be removed with ease for more bike room then!

#22 Re: General Discussion » bought a van :D » 2017-01-04 15:08:19

may as well put all new in, if they gotta come out anyway and its only 35 quid for a new set!

#23 Re: General Discussion » bought a van :D » 2017-01-03 23:35:48

she aint bad needs a good clean but for 650 notes im pleased smile

sounds simple enough!! i can only assume its new barrels thats needed if they are just spinning.

gotta be clever with my conversion as id like to fit a motorbike in with the bed folded. doable i reckon though.
