Bit of a late response but it was fixed the next day, the problem was a corroded wire in the loom apparently. Now driving perfectly.

Cheers kenbw2, got to wait for a couple of days for the mechanic to get back to me because hes fully booked up. Until then looks like im walking to work.

#7 Re: General Discussion » Engine cutting out while driving ! » 2019-10-03 17:02:05

Update, just been flat-bedded to the garage because it wont hold revs for more than a few seconds, mechanic is 99% fuel pump and/or fuel filter.

I will check out the above suggestions tomorrow, thanks

Got an 02 Dispatch 1.9d and last week whilst driving along in a 30 zone the bugger just cut, started again straight away and ran ok, but again today it cut out just a minute or so after pulling off from work.
Obviously this could be quite serious if I was on a hill or roundabout for example as the steering and brakes fail.
The battery terminals are secure, but other than that im at a loss, any suggestions ?

Hi, I had the same problem, please see my post in the maintenance section to see if this is the same problem. I changed the control relay.

Hopefully I have solved it, pulled the stork forwards and after 3 wipes they now work to their full  intermittent cycle and without having to hold the stork until it returns to the home position.

My wipers do not wipe intermittenty, nor do they do the full cycle when the stork is pulled. If i take my finger off the stork they stop halfway down the screen... is this normal ?

#17 Re: General Discussion » MOT failed, scrap or repair ? » 2019-07-23 18:56:05

It`s all done now, really don`t have the time or inclination to do it myself. If it was 20 years ago I would have tackled it no problem.

#18 Re: General Discussion » MOT failed, scrap or repair ? » 2019-07-20 20:26:19

Im keeping it, it may be a underpowered 1.9 but im happy as Larry when im driving it. Weighed up the pro`s n cons and made the right choice.
Long live Boris !

Been quoted £500 all in, apparently the axle bush/pins are a "twat " to do, £120 per side.

Just failed on the following...
Backbox, major leak.
CV boots both sides.
Nearside front coil spring broken.
Sub frame pin or bush excessively worn both sides.
Power steering hose leaking.

Its  1.9D Dispatch with approx 148000 on the clock, bodywork is good, drives well, only paid £730 for it.
Any ideas on repair costs for the above ?

#21 Re: Maintenance » EGR VALVE FIX » 2019-05-11 06:10:43

Did you block your valve also Loutennant?

I certainly did.

Superb stuff Griff, after an oil and glow plug change today the difference is more than expected ! big_smile

#24 Re: General Discussion » Another new member, hello. » 2019-05-08 20:28:00

Is the fuel filter an easy diy job ?
No conversion plans as yet, but you never know.

#25 Re: Maintenance » EGR VALVE FIX » 2019-05-08 19:31:01

I'd say £100 isn't terrible, if it includes the supply of the plugs (£10 each?)

It does, local indi citroen garage, I will probably get the oil done as well because..... well why not.
