When was that registered? I know I've done two identical Dispatches and the one earlier this year was rejected. They've definitely changed
It was before May so it might be more difficult now, will find out soon as I will try and register Muffin 2 when its done, that will have windows all round, graphics and awning but obviously no high roof.
It only says that list is commonly seen motorcaravan external features that might guide the DVLA to a decision it does not say that all motor caravans have these or must have these, could be construde that they want it to look enough like a motor caravan to be a motor caravan.

That's really good to hear and it just shows that given just normal TLC (What ever that is) how long/many miles a vehicle can remain perfectly Servicable.................
Although that does include a brand new engine at 300 odd thousand, I've not quite worked out what it was destined for, its definately not an Expert Mk1 facelift engine, its a 2.0HDI 8 Valve brand new crate engine from Puegeot 2 years ago that Bristol City Taxis had fitted (weirdly with less than a year of its 14 year service life left) but layout is quite different from usual.
On a lighter note Muffin 2 did the drive to work this morning and really doesnt seam like a 320,000 mile vehicle 
Yes I totally agree that the reality will be total and utter panic. But its worth having a plan, and if something as simple as switching off the ignition then thats something.
I do wonder though how to stall the engine when you are already in high gear and accelerating. Jump on the brakes?
Wont work in high gear basically you have to stop, with clutch probably in as otherwise will try and carry on going without braking, then put in 1st and drop clutch suddenly with brakes applied.
And yes if this happens and you dont know what is happening then total panic is what usually happens, luckily I was aware of what it might be and best course of action (and have a famously calm deminia too)
OOOOOHHHH I've Never had a runaway either but Many Many moons ago (probably 35yrs at least) I witnessed bods evacuating the shed that had a runaway in...... Copious clouds of Smoke, Screaming engine (and bods) then a Sort of strainging screach and bang clunk and bits of shrapnel as a seize and bits of escaping engine hapening all at the same time............. Nobody was willing to go back in and see what's happening after the screachy bang ............ Nevermind the smoke still billowing out the doors..............

Yes thats what they do, just carry on until oil supply stops and engine seizes or until it over revs until it litterally blows apart.
Unless you can stop it, only two ways, safe way is to stall it but that depends on if you can stall an engine revving flat out. I did thankfully on second attempt it stayed stalled too, but after 1st attempt it just restarted.
2nd way which I hear is possible but I wouldn't consider it, is to take away the air supply to the engine, basically shove something in the air inlet so no air gets into engine, however this means going very close to an engine that may detinate at any moment. TBH if the first doesnt work I would personally run away and warn off people getting close and just wait for the bang!
Well one last spectacular nail in the coffin, I found out too late the sudden serious oil leak was likely a blown turbo seal and it was seaping out of the intercooler pipe.
Litterally 2 minutes away from the scrappy the engine started self fueling on the oil coming out of the turbo and became a runnaway!
Giant clouds of smoke covering most of exeter but somehow I managed to stall the van at about 10k rpm and stop the engine before it detonated, was rather scary, never had a diesel runaway before.
Anyway it has gone now so next week or two I will introduce Blueberry Muffin the 2nd which will use a lot of the parts from the first one but will be based around my Bristol City Cab Peugeot Expert E7, just going to start by getting afresh MOT on it just in case as it only has a month left, then the work begins!
Unfortunately playing logic with them won't work, all they have to do is repeat their body type assertions and "reasonableness tests", with them having the final say. I guess only taking them to court will change things.
I didn't actually say, but they rejected me again following my letter I sent them saying "why the different answer when it's the same f-in van as the last one you accepted"
And dont suppose they clarrified what they think of as what looks like a campervan?
I was at a festival recently and was parked next to a guy who builds campers for a living.
He was sent a letter in May basically saying from now on you can F*** off and just consider them modified vans and dont bother re-regerstering them .
However what are they thinking by doing this the guidlines below say if everything is done it MUST be re-registered, I wonder if its the speedlimit thing, so vans do not need to pass the same crash test as passenger cars which is one of the reasons why they are only allowed to do 60 on dual carriageways, where as campervans, taxis and minibusses all do.
But as we all know the reality of that means that as those are based on vans in reality most vans inc. ours have all passed car safety testing.
I am just about to convert a E7 taxi to a camper, I will try and re-register once complete, will have mostly same stuff as my van based camper (see post about Muffin) and will be interested to see as its an M1 classified vehicle so already allowed to do 70mph on dual carriageway.
Motor caravan minimum features
In order for a converted vehicle to qualify as a motor caravan it must have certain minimum features:
•a door that provides access to the living accommodation
•a bed, which has a minimum length of 1800mm or 6 feet - this can be converted from seats used for other purposes during the day but must be permanently fixed within the body of the vehicle
•a water storage tank or container on, or in, the vehicle
•a seating and dining area, permanently attached to the vehicle - the table may be detachable but must have some permanent means of attachment to the vehicle. It is not good enough to have a loose table
•a permanently fixed means of storage, a cupboard, locker or wardrobe
•a permanently fixed cooking facility within the vehicle, powered by gas or electricity
•at least one window on the side of the accommodation
If the vehicle has all of these features present, permanently fixed and installed properly, then it is a legal requirement to have it reclassified as a motor caravan on the V5C.
Well its dead 
As you may know had an issue where the cambelt (which was at correct tension jumped 4 teath at crank (8 at cam) and was somehow able to run kind of backwards with air sucked in through exhaust and exhaust blown out through inlet.
Anyway, Canbelt re-done and it runs, starts first turn of key and drives, however compression is slightly low accros all cylinders so suspects valves might have taken a knock and are not seeling well so running a bit guttless, but no smoke, just slow.
However I was thinking still usable and so was going to MOT and sell and start converting my potential doner Expert I picked up while it was dead, howver then the below happened.
So now I am stripping it of good bits and scrapping it! Unless someone wants to buy this weekend its being weighed in without the camper stuff. Weirdly the oil leak happened on way to MOT! And exhaust leak is a pin hole in down pipe.

What were the pictures supplied so the only external mod needed is at least one side windows but you have to supply pictures of outside showing numberplate but showing its a camper conversion.
In my case I took several pictures of outside Inc with numberplate shown and with side and rear doors open to show it is the same van as the interior photos showed, one for instance had the back door with number plate on closed but other open and you could see my cupboards and rock and roll inside.
I need to change the coolant on the E7 but cannot find a drain.
Was just going to take off bottom hose instead but the sealing ring has gone a bit rusty and won't budge, don't want to butcher a bottom hose just to swap the coolant!
Is there a drain plug hiding somewhere, cannot see one on the Scudo either 
I had an old non turbo 1.8D Berlingo and it still was relatively nippy, sounds like something is wrong with the swapped engine.
I would look at what is wrong first the 1.9d is slow but not that slow, was cambelt done correctly, the basic non HDI engines need the pump correctly timed as well as the cam so maybe whoever did the timing did it slightly "out" and thats why your van is so slow.
Inlet gets full of shit from the EGR too, you could send back and get the one from Allparts SW think its up for 250 quid, unless thats the one you have ofc.
The biggest problem is that this never happens when it's sitting here in the yard at home. It happens out and about and even then, chances are the next time I turn the key it will work.
You could try running a couple of wires from the pump to the inside of the van, connect your meter to them, and drive around like that till next time it goes wrong, doesnt need to take any current so some speaker/bell wire would do.
You need to get a meter across the wiring for the pump when its bad ideally as close to pump as possible and see if its a break down in the cable or a faulty pump.
The looms on these vans are not great so I think it could be either but when its not starting if you dont see 12v across the pump connections it will confirm its the wiring.
Is this a timing belt issue as belts normaly let go on the over run in that split second change from power on to off..........
Obviously its not broken as you've had it running again............. but lost a couple teeth or has it been slack just enough for it to jump out of kilter...........Just a thought
So as suspected from my post/pic above the cam timing was wrong, so vaz2121 got it right.
How the hell it jumped as the belt is intact, almost new and wasn't loose who knows, but it was out by two teeth on the crank sproket that would have equated to 4 teeth on the cam sprocket but amazingly, now re-timed it has proper compression, and I have briefly run it and now runs fine again.
Just need to put everything back together and I can go back to driving about in it.
(In the mean time I bought a spare vehicle to transfer my camper stuff over in case it was scrap, so if anyone wants a Peugeot Expert E7 let me know)
So an update, so does this picture look like TDC, i have not yet taken off starter and tried to lock the crank yet but this was the position of the crank pulley after getting the engine turned so I could lock the camshaft.

Tell me if I am wrong but the woodruff key is at TDC on the crank and as the line of the sump is not at 90 degrees to this the engine is not at TDC at the moment?
I'm at a loss right now as to the exact locking procedure on a DW8 or an HDI............ But yes for one of These (HDI) IIRC when my belts were that sounds about right.......... as an HDI's pump dosn't require timing like a DW8's (Like my 2 are)
Not wishing to tell my Granny how to suck eggs........ I'm going to assume if you thought all the cylinders were to be a tad Low you gave each a squirt of oil and did it wet test reading as well to see if any significant change in numbers
To be fair I didnt see the point as the engine "went" suddenly and wetting the bore only usually helps to indicate when there's bore wear.
My current thinking is the crank pulley woodruff key.
I bought an E7 today just as a backup plan, it needs the coolant system flushing or at most a rad and TBH is actually in better condition than my van, so if the engine is pooched I will move all the camper stuff over to the taxi.
So update for this weekend, I have done a compression check, it is the same on all cylinders so not a burnt or holed valve (or piston), but does seam low for a diesel, its about right for a petrol car but would think a typical diesel would be about double.
I think I will have to check the timing, I doubt very much the belt has jumped as nearly new and I have taken the covers off and its at correct tension and all looks good, but maybe a woodruff key has broken and a pulley has moved or something similar as something is going on to make the exhaust exit the inlet.
Do I gather to do the timing there are two locating pins used, one in the cam pulley at about 7 0'clock and the one in the flywheel is through a hole behind the starter motor which has to come off to access?
Does sound like rod in too far into the cylinder as it needs to back off a certain distance for the pressure to release.
I dont know if adjustable on these vans, never looked TBH
So I blanked off the EGR and I am still getting the banging and fumes coming back out the inlet under preasure, this is bad news.
It did occur to me that it sounds like one bang per cycle so that would indicate its only fumes from one cylinder coming out which implies the other 3 are OK, but its cylinder related.
I'm guessing its going to be broken/stuck/bent valve.
What is the best way to do a compression check on these engines?
I have had the exact same issue, creating bubbles of water on the sills and if left it rusts the sills, the metal wasnt holed and the underseal seamed intact too so I dont understand how the water got there.
I use one of these, the 4G aerials on the outside and WiFi aerial on the inside.
I had this on my Berlingo I replaced the solonoid with an older model with the single wire and connected that wire to the positive side of the reversing light switch.
Or if it is a single wire one then you just need a new one (they are only about a fiver)
