Hi,

Fuses are located in two main areas, firstly in the engine bay on the drivers side just behind the headlight. Secondly, internally on the drivers side remove the trim piece just below the pull out cup holder.

#2 Re: General Discussion » EGR valve » 2021-09-05 12:42:22

Hi Jim,

Its at the rear of the engine on the right hand side as you stand in front of it. You'll need to remove the air intake for the cabin ventilation, 10mm deep socket is best. I think to ease access to the egr you're best removing the air filter box at the rear of the engine and unmount the fuel filter. Long arms will help to access the egr valve.

Hope this helps.

#3 Re: Maintenance » Possible electric fault » 2021-07-03 12:49:07

I got mine from the dealer, as I didn't want to risk the same issue with a second had unit. Mine looked like it had some water ingress which may have caused the damage.

There is a few different versions as well unfortunately. I paid around £250 ish for it and was a simple enough job to swap over. You can pick them up from ebay for not a lot I think.

Hope you manage to get it sorted.

#4 Re: Maintenance » Possible electric fault » 2021-07-03 12:03:32

Have you plugged it into a diagnostic machine?

Had a starting issue with my 2009 expert, which in the end turned out to be the BSI unit in the engine bY. Diagnostic picked up several electrical faults which all disappeared once the BSI was changed.

So last week I dropped a seat off to Yvonne from Classic Car Seats:
www.classiccarseats.co.uk

Discussed a few options, and over the next couple of months, mainly because I'm in no rush for them,  will create new leather seat covers for the expert/scudo/dispatch.

Once I've got them fitted I'll post some pictures.

Hi, I would suggest that ot will almost certainly require ad-blue. Pretty much anything new diesel wise now will need to use it.

I'll echo that not many of us have something that new on here, but feel free to ask any questions as you never know.

No worries Crimbo, from memory was a little pain in the arse to replace. At one point I thought it may need the entire pump, which I think was about £300 mark from a local company called pf Jones.

Good luck and fingers crossed it solves it.

HI, anchor1979, my fuel pump solenoid is making a loud noise' so I think ill go for a new one, I bought a Common Rail Leak Off Tester but didn't get to use it, smile and the BSI numbers all matched but I'm going to put my old one back in today and see if any codes come up, will let you know? TIA. smile

I ended up getting one from ebay if I remember correctly,  solenoid that is, as peugeot don't sell just the solenoid.

hi, thanks for the reply, i already bought another BSI for £65, today I cleaned the intake manifold pressure sensor, and my diagbox cleared all the fault codes'' but still a non-start? hmm

Was it a used one? I was tempted but decided to go with a new one due to the number of different models and potentially having issues.

Have you checked you've got fuel going to the injectors?

#11 Re: General Discussion » dispatch 1.6 HDI limp mode,, need help » 2021-05-18 07:47:33

Hi Crimbo and welcome.

Is this the 1.6 hdi from the mk3 (2007 to 2015)?

I too had quite a few issues with my 1.6hdi, the most recent been the bsi unit in the engine bay on the off side. It had always had a few electrical faults show up but nothing to stop the van from running. Then one day it started and ran for a few seconds the cut out, but then wouldn't restart. Plugged a snap on code reader in and got a few faults as normal but also now had a fuel regulator issue amongst others.

Short version is I tried a few cheaper items first such as fuel pump solenoid and fuel filter, but ended up been the bsi unit in the engine bay. Once I'd fitted that, all my other electrical faults also disappeared.

Not at cheap fix and best part of £300 for the part from the dealer though.

Looking to do this job on mine soon to. Great tips tee_cee.

#13 Re: Camper Conversions » Front seats » 2021-04-27 20:06:33

Will do, hopefully going to drop the seat off later this week or early next.

So I've finally ditched the 207 leather seats! Too much of a pia to get fitted so off they went on ebay.

I've now sourced a single passenger seat from a tepee and a new drivers seat to match. Not cheap but cheap compared to some I've seen on ebay.

Any way I've found an upholsterer that makes custome covers for these seats so I'm going to have a set made up in leather as that's the look and feel I'm aiming for. I will also be purchasing a swivel for at least the passenger side seat, and maybe one fro the drivers seat depending on the rear units I decide to fit.

How much are the covers?

Not sure yet on total cost in the leather, but the seat base is listed on ebay :https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITREON-DISPATCH-PEUGEOT-EXPERT-FIAT-SCUDO-QUALITY-SEAT-BASE-COVERS-2008-2016-/293712360721?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286

I'll be leaving a seat with them so they can make up a pattern for the back rest as they currently don't have one.

My understanding is that the seat fabric is an integral part of the cushion so reupholstered isn't an option, but they can do covers.

#16 Re: Maintenance » Crazy electrical faults PLEASE HELP ME!! » 2021-04-03 08:56:27

I had several electrical faults recently, some such as the glow plug relay fault id had for a while. Any way one day it started, then cut straight out then wouldn't start at all.

Long story short - turned out to be the bsi unit in the engine compartment on the offside.

Expensive but did cure quite a few issues.

#17 Re: General Discussion » cold starting issues desperate » 2021-02-11 16:45:05

I recently had a severe starting issue with my 2009 1.6HDI, it had been sat for a few weeks when this happened. I went out to start it and it kicked in only to cut out after a few seconds. Then it wouldn't start at all, it would turn over ok but seemed like not getting any fuel.

So tried a few things: new fuel pump solenoid was first unfortunately that didn't solve it, as the same time replaced the fuel filter. Still nothing.

Next step was either a new fuel pump or the engine compartment fuse board. Went for the fuse board, brand new for the stealer! as it was the cheaper of the two options. Turns out it was the fuse board causing the issue, as soon as the new one fitted it started 1st time.

Think the best thing for you to do is get it hooked up to a full diagnostic machine and then take it from there. I did with mine but it was suggesting a solenoid, just didn't tell me whether it was the one on the pump or in the fuse unit in the engine bay.

LEt us know how you get on.

#18 Re: General Discussion » Aftermarket air filter and oil catch can mod » 2020-07-11 08:05:59

I've found a K&N induction kit for the PSA 1.6 hdi, although it looks pretty straight forward to fit it is a little on the expensive side at £188.39

Induction kit K&N

A slightly cheaper one

Yeah with you in that dispatcher, I think it's the same engine just in a different vehicle.

Be interesting to see how much could get the right parts for. Had a little look for an aftermarket air filter that may fit and perhaps be better than the standard one but not  come across anything suitable as yet.

#20 Re: General Discussion » Aftermarket air filter and oil catch can mod » 2020-07-10 17:51:01

Seen this on YouTube, our engine. Think there is a kit available too but not sure how much modification would be needed.

#21 Re: General Discussion » Aftermarket air filter and oil catch can mod » 2020-07-10 15:41:12

You've peaked my interest on the subject dispatcher. I recently replaced that section of pipe from the turbo back to just after the connection you mention, and even a brand new one doesn't really sit and catch properly.

#22 Re: General Discussion » Remap & EGR Delete » 2020-07-09 21:34:52

Thanks dispatcher, already got the replacement motor. Got it from eurocarparts with a healthy 37% discount so made it a reasonable price, even compared to ebay. Luckily I can put the cost through my business, but even so I hate the price of some of the spares for these Van's!

#23 Re: General Discussion » Remap & EGR Delete » 2020-07-09 18:04:58

EGR banking plate has arrived in the post today, so assuming rain doesn't stop play tomorrow afternoon I shall install said plate and see how she fairs.

But fitting will  need to wait until I have first rectified the faulty wipers by replacing the motor, and at nearly £200 it ain't a cheap fix ?

#25 Re: General Discussion » CO false alarm? » 2020-07-08 17:35:07

It is strange, if had a few over the last 10 yrs or so that alarm for what appears no particular reason. Had one that alarmed and the customer rang national grid as they were at the time, when they came out they only found a gas leak at the boiler! Only thing was, the CO detector was in the living room near the unused gas fire, and the boiler was in the garage two walls away.

Strange old world. I should probably mention I'm a gas engineer.
