I took my dash apart for a second time and replaced a few more bulbs (there's loads of them in there!), everything is lit up now, need sunglasses to glance at the speedo now. It was a dud bulb behind my odometer that caused the mileage to disappear.
Don't buy the speedo instrument bulbs at Halfrauds they'll rip you off. Use a local motor factor 35p each rather than £2.50 each.
I did my speedo bulbs a few months ago, have a look on the forum for the advice I was given.
Good luck with the conversion, I've had my van for 12 months and only boarded and carpeted it out, not got any further yet!
Hellishly good fun to drive!
Doh, of course! I folded them out, one came off easily, the other with a tap.
Both sprayed black now!
Essential maintenance!!
Hi, I feel silly asking this one.
Removed the nut, gave the arm a tap, didn't come off
Is there a knack?
Just wanted to give them a blast with some black spray I'd found
I wonder if the runner can be removed and replaced with some silicone sealant around and mounting holes??
Welding goggles are usually for traditional oxy acetylene welding and don't give enough eye protection against the MIG arc. The full mask protects against UV too. When I've not used one I've ended up looking like the first day of a Greek holiday with a red face!
Welding underneath is hard graft, I only had a bit to do last Sat, but two years ago I welded up my Cit Relay and was underneath for a week.
MIG?
I used a couple of big pieces of cardboard to make templates for ply lining the sides.
Good luck, have fun!
Yay, passed today!
Did the welding last Saturday.
A couple of advisories; cv boot, pinprick hole just by cat
Will under seal the welding tomorrow and refit the vent box underneath.
A mate has offered me a couple of hours on his ramp on Sat afternoon, so a waxoyling we will go!
12 months happy motoring ahead!!
Could I spray used engine oil inside the chassis or is that frowned upon these days??
Definitely a good idea.
Is it worth power washing underneath ?
Or should I just scrape the crud off then waxoyl it?
Well I put the old girl in for her MOT last week, the fail list wasn't too bad;
Loose battery, upon investigation it was the tray loose, so I tightened that up.
Exhaust middle box, replaced that (despite wiggling it around it still doesn't quite line up in the heat proof shroud)
Two patches of welding behind the rear wheels in front of the rear crossmember, ground out the rot and welded some pieces in.
Fingers crossed when I resubmit it on Tues!
I've had nearly 12 months trouble free motoring from it (replaced the battery, that's all), and look forward to the next 12 months!
Done, the brake light switch seemed to be playing up, took it out (only a push fit!), worked it for a bit, put it back and tested it, seems ok now. I'll double check it before the MOT!
Hi
MOT next week and after checking, I've got no brake lights.
Changed the bulbs - no joy
I downloaded a handbook but the fuse diagram is different to mine (2004 Citroen Dispatch Hdi), can anybody point me in the right direction for my next steps;
Checking the fuse
Checking the stop light switch (where is it?)
Cheers
Ricko

I'm going to keep it simple inside, sofa/bed with storage, simple 12v system with lights/usb chargers, I was given a 'Carnopy' shelter which I'll adapt to fit.

I scrubbed the cab, fitted a cheap steering wheel cover its one that you sew on, very boy racer! A new gearstick gaiter and a repair to the glovebox lid. Cheap seat covers and a nice stereo that my lady friend donated (it did belong to her ex, ha not anymore!)

I ply lined the inside using some leftover sheets and carpeted inside using cheap carpet tiles.
I haven't quite figured out how to use the futon yet, it's a bit too wide and I need to create some storage under it. I'll try and turn it into a rock and roll type of bed.
Oh, just to say I paid £39.24 for all three filters and 5l of Valvoline 10W40 semi synth, which I didn't think was too bad.
I think that there were two different systems used, mine is a Siemens system I think (just switching the ignition on and off a few times without turning it over will fill the bowl) and has no manual pump, the Bosch system has a pump fitted and can be primed in the normal way.
Having stopped servicing my own cars a couple of years ago I thought that servicing the Dispatch would be within my capability.
Oil change: FRAM PH5566A filter, the sump plug is 21mm and has a Torx fitting as well, I jacked up the drivers side to get better access, the filter is better accessed from below with a convential filter wrench, fairly straight forward but next time I'll make the effort to get a sump plug washer
Air Filter; BOSCH S2200, held by four screws, easy job
Fuel Filter; FRAM C10777ECO, there are two types fitted I believe, my motor factor kindly gave me both types to try, an electrical connection plug is removed simply by unplugging, there are three fuel pipes, note where they are fitted before removal, there is a white or green coloured tab which is depressed to remove them, remove the top of the filter housing using an oil filter wrench, there are special tools available, the seal sits in the rim of the housing, replace this with the one in your new kit, drain the fuel bowl and remove any dirt/water from the bottom (next time I'll buy a cheap turkey baster to do this), carefully reassemble, turn on the ignition four or five times to refill the fuel bowl then start as normal
I just thought I'd post this if it's any use to other owners.
Has anyone fitted after market spots/fogs? There's not much room on the bumper, has anyone made there own bracket? I found some Ring Rally Giants in my shed and fancied pimping up the front end.
It came with a diagram but the connections were for the 12S socket, I got it from Towsure. It was connection 2 that was needed for the aux battery.

Hi
I have bought a 30A auto switching combination relay (smart charging relay) to charge an auxiliary battery in the back of my van. The auxiliary battery will run some internal led lighting.
I have connected the 12v connection on the unit to the battery positive, and have connected the 0v connection to the vehicle earth (chassis). What connection do I use from the remaining ones (6,4 or 2) to charge my auxiliary battery, and is it a straight forward connection to the auxiliary battery positive?
Many thanks
Ricko
Hi
Whilst I was fiddling with my heater display bulbs I happened to remove my hazard switch and saw there was some additional wiring in place that was not connected. Is this for front fogs? It seemed to match up to where one of the blanking plates is next to the hazard switch. It made me wonder if the wiring is all there for the front fogs and what other Citroen fogs would fit or aftermarket ones could be made to fit. Anybody tried this??
Cheers
Having replaced the blown bulbs behind the instruments I've noticed that I've lost the odometer display now, any thoughts??
