i fitted a new alternator from the bay, so it can't be her making the noise.
i checked all the fan belt pulleys for wobbleage, all seem good, except they are all out of line for some reason. anyway..
i think the sound is actually coming from inside the engine itself! shame, she has a good heart!

For some time ive noticed when listening to the engine idling, or at any rpm, there is this nasty crunching sound, sounds like a bad dry bearing,
it sounds like rocks inside a bearing instead of metal balls.
the sound seems like its coming from the fuel pump area mounted on the front of the engine, altho it could be coming from the valve cover area.
the sound goes with the engine rpm, if that helps.
its just a matter of time before it fails so id like to sort it.

I've always like the idea of those table n chair setups they have in mobile homes, you know with the window to the side and all nice an organised with tea etc.
but my van is staying a van,im not cutting a fugly window in the side of it, that would turn it from a cool builders van into a sad camper, i tried to make it like a cosy space inside it, but it all just takes up valuable space, you don't need cupboards really, or a kitchen sink, you don't need any of it,
just have a few boxes of things, i have a bunch of foam sheets i found on a building site which keep the floor softer than bare metal.
soak up all the puddles, everythings normal.

well the blower fan/motor is easy to remove, its under the glovebox, a cylinder shape, the motor magnets wear or get jammed. its not brushless.

my disspatch came with a heavy roof rack, i threw it away immediately, it seemed to be held on by one zip tie!
i wouldn't worry about a scratch, these vans are like tanks, they need a bit of battle damage to look good.
just put some vaseline on it and be done with it.

1st insured for 465 pounds , 2nd= 14/11/15 aviva insured 409 quid , 3rd time costed 300* hmm, 4th insurance was 293pounds, 5th was £268.00 6th insurance is £296! so its gone up 2019.

I would actually use modeling skills to exactly replicate the surrounding rusty metal so they dont see it on the mot inspection..
fill it with anything, then carefully disguise it using rust techniques or whatever it takes.

if you are familiar with working on the injectors of the mk1 dispatch 1.9d, please advise me on what to do with my leaking
fuel tubes that connect to the injectors, do I have to pay a mechanic to do this or is it piece of cake to
do this? i.e getting to and removing etc the injectors and leaking tubes.

you need to remove to fan under the passenger footwell, easy, then take apart motor, remove magnets or just hit them, because they have stopped contacting the stator. enner.

I think he means if you're looking at the engine, the cam is on top left, so he means the top right of engine, so thats opposite the cam.
all the components and wizardry around this area is also wet on mine. causing me to fail thy mot yet again.

I never know the milage my dispatch does because guess what, the little lcd screen numbers are unreadable, altho I noticed with the heater on for ages the numbers got readable. anyone know how to rep air it?

I drive the older dispatch, yep, shes a keeper, I changed the engine oil, then, a few days later I changed it again, so now he oil is clear and gold on the dipstick. now thats caring.

I have had a red amp power cable running from the battery positive to the rear quarters for years,
firewalls are very difficult to find a whole because they have multiple layers of metal and goo.
so-- positive + runs directly Right from the battery and through the big holes in the wing panel, i tied the cable to a twig to help lead it to the back of the
wing panel, from there it goes through the door speaker area, then under the foot plastic bit, then Bob's you uncle Fanny's your aunt.
lucky the cable has a fuse built in near the battery so if it shorted out on the bodywork somehow, the fuse would pop.

yes you disconnect the battery, put your amp power lead through the wing, it comes out near the door hinge, put the wire through with the other wires into the cabin, it has been 2 years now, no problem.
hopefully it never shorts out on the bodywork.

it is the newest tyre on the van yet its wearing on the inside, i keep it inflated to around 36psi,
it does not look like its leaning inwards.
i have always thought the steering is not
