Managed to find a 5m roll not too dear.
Followed Caspers suggestion of the felt too as I think I may also use them occasionally with the black felt outward as blackouts for the rear while parked up in towns.
I just did the two sides and rears to get rid of the doggers curtains I had as I will use the universal ones in the front.
Also wondering if silver to the inside might be better for heat retaining on a night? I think I might give the felt a spray of water repellent to prevent it soaking up condensation and experiment.
Quite enjoyed making them apart from the gaffer tape edging.
Bloody stuff gums up the scissors and won't go round corners. It got worse as my patience ran out and I didn't really make a very good job of it. I doubt they will last long. I would find someone who could sew cloth tape round if I did it again.
No time now though. Off on a long awaited, extended solo trip as soon as I can get ready.

Full set of good quality, well made, lined curtains to fit front back and sides of Expert/Scudo/Dispatch. White on one side, multi cartoonish prints of dogs to the other.
Would suit doggy types who go to shows or perhaps someone with a window box full of pampas grass.

I only got one key with my van and to avoid the inevitable disaster really need another. Old style with no central locking or chip.
Can anyone suggest anywhere in the Borders or NE areas I can get one cut? I have been thinking I would just pick one up on my travels but haven't been able to.
With the advent of remote locking and programmable keys not so many do the old fashioned ones anymore. And the ones I have asked don't keep the required X section blanks in stock.
Can't risk sending my only key through the post and I have little faith in those claiming to do them from photos.

I assumed it must be a hydraulic system with an electric pump?
But don't ask me why!
Seem to be adding complexity for no good reason to me.
I don't know the later models at all but a quick search suggests power steering problems are a common fault. It's an electric pump and there was even a recall of earlier models than yours to sort a problem with the pumps earth.
Would be worth checking and cleaning the contacts if you can get at them.
I went for universal in the end.
The front is good for size but as Casper suggested, only just deep enough. The sides are not too good though. They are shaped for the modern types with side windows which drop lower at the front.
I plan to use the material of the sides cut down for the rears and make some diy side ones.

Odd problem with one corner of my windscreen which won't stick the plastic suckers. Not just those from the screen but the sat nav one too. Obviously I have tried cleaning it three times. and very vigorously. Including with proper glass cleaner and rain away. Vinegar and meths next on the list. Nothing visible at all and just 6" around the corner. I suspect silicone from a dash dandy type cleaning spray.
And strange you should mention dogging...
My van has windows all round apart from side rear quarters and came fitted with quite good quality well fitted curtains. Should have been a bonus but they are absolutely plastered in pictures of awful cartoon dogs. I have reversed the ones I could to show plain white outside but it doesn't help the interieur. Some can't be reversed either. I have risked a few rural CP's in it but haven't had any offers yet (good or bad). 
I'm a shortarse (5' 6" ish) and find that unless my belly is brushing the wheel, I can't depress the clutch the last cm or so. I then have to move the seat forward or back just to get in or out.
Makes you wonder who they designed the seating position around. Admittedly the swivels on mine do add an inch or two to the height.
Apart from the nuisance of having to keep moving the seat, it isn't a bad position for the sort of driving I do. Almost a straight push down on the pedals and no reaching for the wheel. A bit like a 60's Commer.
Haven't looked that close at mine but unless you can see a little spring retainer at 180 deg from the arm, they should just pull of the splines.
If they are stuck, a spray of whatever penetrating fluid and a bit of persuasion from a carefully placed large flat screwdriver might help. If they are really stuck you might need to lever both sides at the same time. If really solid, a puller might shift them.
You have inspired me though and as mine look scabby, I will give them a spray too.
It is surprising how much swivel seats open the space up.
Even in the expert bringing the cab into the living area makes quite a difference. You could have four people seated yet all able to stand up, walk from front to rear and get in or out any door. No squeezing past each other and no being dictated by the seating as to which way to face. But as there is usually only two of us we each have a chaise lounge which can be used either facing forwards or back. Having the passenger seat laid right back even allows star gazing straight up through the windscreen.
The versatility is amazing.

Anybody post a photo of the location of this for me . I think I know where it is but without a manual I'd appreciate the information .
I think mine is borked , both reverse lights out . Started by checking the fuse , it's fine and the lamps are ok . I'm thinking if I unplug the lead and and short across the plug as if the switch was made then reverse lights should come on .
Hoping it's not a busted wire somewhere .
Any idea why there's no Haynes manual for these beasties ?

The no Haynes is a big mystery on such a widely used design. Can't think of any other similar sellers without one.
But to be honest advisories having been brought to our attention do need to be monitored and addressed accordingly
In general, yes I would certainly pay attention and check them out. In fact I did get the bit of welding done that was an advisory last time. Another bit of welding I was advised about couldn't be found!
I do see the MOT as the minimal standard a vehicle should be able to achieve. Mind you, I don't need the state to remind me and extract money for it every year.
But with my seat rails, I don't consider them a significant danger even though I can see why a tester might be concerned. While not averse to sensible precautions, as someone from the era of no compulsory helmets or seat belts, I think there are far worse dangers on the roads than rattley seat rails.
Just remembered my 40's swb landy with a V8 in it. On the road in the late 70's. Seats were bushel apple boxes wired through holes in the floor, no screen and no rear bodywork.
Ah well, no time for fun or excitement anymore... efficiency and safety uber alles. 
Got my own MOT'ed last week with no problems.
I was surprised as I had done nothing about a couple of advisories from the last one. I assumed that these advisories went on record to be found when the next test was done. Is this not so?
One of the advisories related to all seat rails being worn. Could have been a nightmare to try to fix and almost impossible to find replacements. Finding and replacing four seats which fold down to two single beds would have been very expensive even if I could find some.

I looked at Boxer ones as you suggested. Surprised to find their windscreen is an inch less in height than ours. As you said, a long slope on Expert/Dispatch/Scudos.
I also looked at diy but at £20 pm for the proper stuff I soon changed my mind.

It's the shape I am most concerned about, mostly for privacy rather than insulation (at least till winter). So cheap universal ones should so long as they cover. The dimensions given don't really help with shape. Will be fine, or could even be better if they are too big as they should just overlap or tuck away.

I would have gone for those you linked to Casper if I had seen in time. They looked good quality and went for £30.
Can anyone please clarify how different the windscreen and side window dimensions are on the various model shapes?
I am looking for interior silver screens. Would those listed as for up to 2006 models fit?
Zero sewing skills Casper so I need something off the peg.

I got a couple of sheets of tent like material 2m X 2.5m with eyelets and I dear say can put on some extra where needed and/or cut down to suit......
Where did you get the "tent like material" from?
I can only find the woven polypropylene stuff and know from experience how noisy that is. Would really like something finer and less plastic.
My van already has C channel both sides so I intend to use these :-

If you mean the ones behind the sliders they aren't too bad to get at.
If I remember correctly...
Pull the trim at the base of the gear lever. It's just clipped in. Underneath are the screws for the ash tray. Take that out and it reveals the screws for the cover trim over the heater controls. Carefully pull the slider knobs off. Take the cover trim off and you can see the front of the pcb for the siders and lights. Its held down by quite a few v small torx screws. The bulbs are on the underside of the board.
Check as you go for any screws or fixings I might have forgotten. Twas only last week I did it but my memory is useless.
It would be a good idea to check the condition of the slider contacts while your in there. Its all a bit flimsy for something that can get quite hard use. No wonder they tend to be unreliable.
I think they are worn loose. It's not the actual fixings but the sliding rails.
Being part of the bed and also swiveling they get a lot of use. Get hold of the top of the seat back and shake and there is quite a lot of movement in all directions. Feels and sounds worse than it is I suspect.
If I can't adjust it out I will bolt them down rigid for the next MOT. Is that allowed?
I got an advisory on loose seat rails last MOT and as I have the seats out I thought I would see if I can do anything.
Is there anyway to tighten them up at all or do they need replacing?
I was thinking of nipping the channels a bit in a vice.
Hi, how did you remove the mat? To me it looked like major dismantling of the dash, so I just removed the seats and rolled it up as much as I could.
Just needed to take out the center console, the plastic trim over the wheel arches and on the sills. A few large round plastic turn buttons hold the front edge of the mat up under the dash.
I slit the mat to allow for getting it over the handbrake lever but you could just release the cable.
A couple of bad patches of surface rust on mine and the hard drive looking thing for seat belt pre tension I think was quite rusty. The worst bits were around the seat mounting bolts which of course isn't good.
I am glad I did it.

I think it's impossible to avoid occasional slight dampness when living in a van in the colder, wetter months vaz. Not too bad so long as you can dry out with a good drive and some heating and ventilation every couple of days. Without that I think we just have to minimise it and put up with it.
Any actual water leakage into the cab area though really does need fixing right away. Once that rubber coated sponge mat gets soaked, it will never dry out without lifting.
Mine has had a few days in a greenhouse with through ventilation. I was very pleased how quick it dried even at this time of year.
Finally got the time to remove the seats and mat.
Only one seized bolt so not so bad. Some of the other bolts were replaced by hex heads though and were very long. An eighth of a turn over a 2 1/2" long thread has done my arthritis no good at all.
Glad I did it though. The original rubber mat had been covered in carpeting which had dried out nicely. But the foam backing under the rubber mat was sodden. I could only just pick it up with the weight of water in it! The van was on a slight forward slope and after lifting the mats out there was still an inch deep pool gathered at the front.
Just caught it in time I think as surface rust had got hold in a few places and plenty of areas had rust coloured bubbles in the paint. It would never have dried out without lifting the mats and I recon a year or so and the floor would have needed major repair.
Nearly ran myself over!
When I removing the hand brake lever from the side of the seat it of course took all tension off the cable. The above mentioned forward slope and gravity did their thing and I noticed it starting to roll. Just managed to jam my boot under the back wheel before it gained too much momentum. But then I was stuck.
Managed to reach a spanner which allowed me to reach a hammer and a bit of wood to replace my foot as a wedge. Otherwise I might still be there now.
