Does anyone have any advice or experience of changing a MK 11 expert shock absorbers to create a softer ride?
I use mine as a "day van" and never if ever drive it fully or half loaded. Any advice would be gratefully accepted
I have a 2011 Expert Tepee Gleneagles wheelchair conversion which as much as I really like the van because of the extra cab insulation, all wheel disc brakes and proper air conditioning the thing that really let's it down is the wheel chair access conversion and although the "trough" running from the rear door to behind the front seats I find very useful when out traveling the country the actual joint/hinge hold the ramp I've found very poor and I've had to have an extensive repair done to it! I have also removed the Ramp which for my "day van" purposes made life so much easier.
I would be interested in hearing how you complete your idea of a full length rear bumper.
Hi there! After moaning about the comfort of the front seat on my Expert Tepee for quite some time now I eventually sourced a pair of "electric leather and cloth seats from a C5" I was confident I could fit them on to the seat frames as I had previously fitted a pair of X-trail seats which were a fair bit wider than these to my old Citroen Delivery and I wasn't to bothered about them being electric as my thoughts were to just manually adjust them to the position I liked and leave them at that (a bit selfish I know but it's only me who drives it) but after a good look at how good these seats are thinking that it shouldn't be rocket science to power the seats through a fuse on my leisure battery set up!
So before I start ripping my van apart has anyone on here tried this conversion or at least advice on setting up the electrics to operate the seats safely?

I know what you mean about the space between the front seats but as I am getting older I am finding it more awkward to get to the hand brake without opening the door to do it.
I was even thinking of a solenoid or something on those lines!
Hi, Just wondering if any other MK 2 van owners out there have moved or thought about moving the location of the Handbrake lever?
I have an expert teepee Gleneagles conversion so I don't have the front bench seat so would like to change the position of the handbrake lever to between the two front seats!
Has anyone any experience or help they can pass on before I have to find out the hard way?

Yeah I've seen that but was hoping to get away with paying a little bit (a lot) less than what they will probably be asking for it.

I know that VW type 2's have been electrified as well as a Nissan van that has and been turned into a camper.

Thanks for replying Vaz2121 it probably does have extra weight due to the lowering of the centre floor area for the wheelchair access but I've stripped all the seating and other items so that should have helped the ride hight,

Hi everyone, I've recently changed my Dispatch for a Expert Tepee (Gleneagles conversion) and I am certain the ride hight is much lower than on my van, does any one have any idea's on how to increase the ride hight?
These new rules are exactly why I have gone for a Day van with an emergency bed facility, I've built a camping box with cooker ring 12v cool box and storage for cups plates and water.
I know it's not what everyone wants but it suits me and takes very little effort to remove and install and means I can still use it as a full size van.
Changed my 08 Dispatch for an 2011 Expert Teepee conversion only wish I had taken the X-Trail seats I had installed in my old van they were a lot more comfortable and much better support.
I've got two single rear seat's in really good condition from a Gleneagles disabled conversion also an interior spare wheel mounting bracket
Haven't put them up for sale on an internet site yet so haven't got a link to add to ebay but just get in touch if your interested

Sorry about the delay in replying Anchor, not really sure about the age or model of X-trail just saw a pair locally that look good with very little wear.
I fitted them by using 1.5 inch X 1 inch Rectangular steel tube and off setting the mounting holes It also gave the seat an one inch lift which I think is good benefit for anyone of 6 foot or over.
Fitted a very comfortable pair of Nissan X-trail seats to my 2008 Dispatch the biggest job was shortening the passenger seat chassis but really look the part.

I have seen a post on here about the spilt door mirror's available for the 08 dispatches but has any one got any links to information on changing the mirrors?
It doesn't look to be difficult but would just like to have the heads up before I start.

My refillable gas bottle only holds about 1.5litres, the main reason I use gas in such a small bottle is to fit in the space I have built for it and I only really use it to make cups of tea and coffee so don't need a larger bottle (as I say mine is a day van rather than a camper van), I fill it from any larger gas bottle I can manage to turn upside down using a gas line I bought from ebay which works fine for me.

How easy are these wing mirrors to change I am looking to tour Europe soon and these would be a big advantage as well as looking better?
Yes these are as easy to fit as they seem to be!!!
And although very happy with how they look, the drivers side mirror isn't as effective as I hoped it would be and am considering changing back to the old ones.
I have a small refillable propane bottle I acquired in Germany which has a screw valve to release any air left inside when filling,
I use it to fire the twin cooker in my day van it gives me several hours(5-6) usage which is more than adequate for my needs.
I can send pictures and more information should any one be interested
I am getting a bit old now and just the thought of having to try and remove that stupid set up under the bottom of the van in the rain is a scary proposal for me!!! (done it on my drive and it was a chew) So when I am away I intend to keep it on the tow bar bike rack just for emergencies.

Haven't used that particular item but I've triple insulated the roof, floor, side panel's and lined with ply.
Thinking of putting an extra layer of insulation on the cabin floor.
